Setup
Step 3 — Study Cards: Add these into the base game study cards and shuffle.
Phase 3: Research
Step 1 — Score Studies: These 4 new study cards require specific trait symbols and a minimum friendliness score.
For example: A study showing 2 tail traits and 4+ friendliness requires a pup with 2 tails plus at least 2 more symbols of any type (for a total of at least 4).
Study Cards
Each of the four promo study cards has a trait icon on the left and three friendliness columns: 4+, 7+ and 9+. Each column shows a row of trait symbol slots, and each column has a star score printed below it.
| Study card | Trait icon | 4+ column | 7+ column | 9+ column | Stars (4+ / 7+ / 9+) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Purple swirl | 2 trait symbols | 4 trait symbols | 5 trait symbols | 2 / 5 / 10 |
| 2 | Brown bird | 2 trait symbols | 4 trait symbols | 5 trait symbols | 2 / 5 / 10 |
| 3 | Pink spots | 2 trait symbols | 4 trait symbols | 5 trait symbols | 2 / 5 / 10 |
| 4 | Teal square | 2 trait symbols | 4 trait symbols | 5 trait symbols |
Each card's columns use the same friendliness thresholds (4+, 7+, 9+) and the same star scores (2, 5, 10). The trait symbol slots in each column are drawn as squares and circles in the card's trait colour, as printed on the card.
