General Rules for the Pack

During Setup you may choose or draw one Rule (§) tile at random to use in the game. The Saga tiles can be added to a game, one, some or all of them, as you prefer.

Rule (§) Tiles

Fjäll's Variant (PV222)

Place this card next to the Victory Condition cards, face up, as an extra standard level Victory Condition.

Cartographer Victory: You have [Cartographer icon] on Vinland, Damascus, Chang'an and Ådalen.

Matt's Variant (PV224)

During setup: Each player draws a random [white V-shaped tile icon] that is not in the game. This is kept secret to the other players.

During play: Each player may, EXHAUSTING 1 [skull-and-crossbones icon], reveal their [white V-shaped tile icon] and act as if it was DRAWN in a SWEDEN action.

Queen B's Variant (PV226)

During setup: Offer this card to players in player order. If chosen, add to the Jarlboard, onto its special ability. Your starting location is changed to: Fatimid ([Jarl home symbol] takes first STEP from the Jarlboard into the Middle Sea). Your special ability is changed to be: Your DUCHIES may include [scales icon].

The Danish Variant (PV230)

During setup: Randomly select 1 face down Victory Condition Card of each difficulty level and keep them face down. Reveal them during play (as in Bragi's variant) in the order:

  1. Eklundian
  2. Advanced
  3. Standard
  4. Novice

Note: the tile prints these four level names as shown. The base rulebook names the Victory Condition difficulty levels Novice, Standard, Hard and Legendary; the names are reproduced here exactly as printed on the tile.

Cole's Wehrliant (PV228)

1st game: Use the 72 Tile starter deck as your "Evolving Saga". Shuffle the Evolving Saga and create a Saga Pile of 12 Tiles per player from it. After the game put all 72 Evolving Saga Tiles in a pile again. The winner secretly exchanges 12 Tiles from the Evolving Saga with Tiles not in the Evolving Saga, matching their types. Use this new Evolving Saga for your next game.
