Venom's Objective

Use Symbiote tokens to reduce any Spider-Man in your Domain to 0 Strength.

To achieve his objective Venom must have more Venom Symbiote tokens on Spider-Man than Spider-Man's current Strength. Spider-Man must be in Venom's Domain for Venom to win.

Special Setup

Place the Symbiote tokens with the Venom side facing up in a pile near your Domain. This the Symbiote pool.

Symbiote Tokens

Symbiote tokens have two different sides: a Venom side and a Spider-Man side. The Venom side shows a Symbiote bonded with Eddie Brock. Unless stated otherwise, all Symbiote tokens are played with the Venom side facing up. The Spider-Man side shows a Symbiote that prefers to bond with Spider-Man.

Some cards like Internal Struggle and You are Not Innocent as well as Allies Lasher and Agony, allow you to directly place Symbiote Tokens on Heroes.

Using Symbiote Tokens

A Symbiote token is considered to be in play if it is placed on card in play. Symbiote tokens in the pool are not in play.

Symbiote tokens have two uses. First, if an Ally with a Symbiote token is defeated or used to resolve an Event, you may return the Symbiote token to the pool rather than discarding the Ally. Second, you may weaken characters other than Symbiotes using Venom Symbiote tokens. When a Symbiote token is placed on a character with the Venom side facing up, it acts as a -1 Strength token. When the Hero is defeated or removed, the Symbiote token is returned to the pool.

Spider-Man and the Symbiote Tokens

When Venom vanquishes any Spider-Man Hero, he relocates Spider-Man to any location in Venom's Domain.

To win, Venom must lower a Spider-Man Hero's Strength to 0 using Symbiote tokens, and the Spider-Man Hero must be in Venom's Domain. When a Spider-Man Symbiote token is placed on Spider-Man, it acts as a +1 Strength token. Symbiote Suit can flip Symbiote tokens to the Spider-Man side. Venom will need to overcome or change these tokens to win the game.

If more than one Spider-Man Hero is in play, Venom only needs to reduce one of their strengths to 0 to win the game. A Spider-Man Hero is any Hero with "Spider-Man" in their name.

Card Notes

Scarlet Spider

Scarlet Spider may take up to four Venom Symbiote tokens from one Spider-Man Hero. Whoever plays Scarlet Spider choses how many Symbiote tokens from which Spider-Man Hero to place on him after playing the Hero. Spider-Man Symbiote tokens cannot be placed on Scarlet Spider.

Card text: "When SCARLET SPIDER is played, place up to four Venom Symbiote tokens from any Spider-Man Hero in play on SCARLET SPIDER."

Symbiote Suit

Symbiote Suit can be used in two different ways depending on which Domain it is played to. If played or relocated into Venom's Domain, Symbiote Suit acts as an Effect and is immediately discarded after its Ability is used. If played to any other Domain, Symbiote Suit is played as a Hero. Symbiote tokens may be placed on Symbiote Suit. This increases the Strength of the Event by 1.

Card text: "At any time, if SYMBIOTE SUIT is in Venom's Domain, it is an Effect that flips one Venom Symbiote token on any Spider-Man Hero. If Symbiote Suit is in a Domain other than Venom's, Symbiote Suit is a Hero with no additional ability."
