Queenie 1: Boats
Components
- 5× Luxury good: Boat (in 2 sizes for Deluxe/Classic, and Essential Edition)
- 1 Oasis tile
Changes in Setup
After separating the luxury goods into 5 stacks, shuffle 1 boat into every stack.
Changes in Game Play
When a player acquires one of the boats depicted below, they draw 3 oasis tiles that are not in play and choose 1 tile. That oasis tile is placed on the boat. The other 2 oasis tiles are mixed in with the rest of the unused oasis tiles. The chosen oasis tile will be scored in addition to the players' 3 claimed oases of the highest value.
There is also a one time bonus for acquiring these boats:
- Boat with yellow goods keshis on top: The player may return any 2 keshis deployed on their player board to the common supply and take 2 keshis of other color(s) and deploy them immediately (gaining deployment bonus if applicable).*
- Boat with purple goods keshis on top: The player may claim an already discovered oasis tile without paying any resources.
- Boat with orange goods keshis on top: The player advances their fisherman 1 step on the river track (+ more steps when spending water if desired).
* You may NOT return a brown caravan keshi standing next to a discovered or claimed oasis, nor a beige guard keshi committed to a city gate. Also, you may NOT return any goods keshis (yellow, purple or orange), but you may take one of these in exchange.
Permanent Bonus
If a player acquires one of the boats shown here, they gain a permanent bonus:
Everytime the player, after having placed one of their assistents in the river sector, takes one fish keshi (turquoise) intead of performing the sector action, they advance their fisherman 2 steps on the river track.
!! Important: In this case the player may not discard water to advance additional steps on the river track.
Scoring Tile 37
Gain 3 points per BOAT.
Queenie 2: Chess Sets
Components
- 5× Luxury good: Chess set (in 2 sizes for Deluxe/Classic, and Essential Edition)
- 1 Oasis tile
Changes in Setup
After separating the luxury goods into 5 stacks, shuffle 1 boat into every stack.
Printed error: this line reads "boat" in the English original. The German original reads "1 zufällige Schachspiel-Luxusware" (one random chess set), so the Queenie 2 luxury goods in the setup are chess sets. Transcribed as printed; the chess set reading is the intended rule.
Changes in Game Play
When a player acquires a chess set they lose 4 points in addition to spending goods keshis.
The player gains one of the keshis depicted on the bottom of the tile and places it on their player board, gaining the deployment bonus if applicable.
In addition they get 2 dinar.
