Using This Expansion
This expansion adds more leviathans, characters, and classes for players to choose.
In addition, the storage tray contains additional wells and bays for players to determine their storage preferences for their Leviathan Wilds collection.
Additional Rules
Special Terrain
Certain leviathans have special terrain ("Flux" and "Architect"). The effects of special terrain vary and are specified on the leviathan's "Special Rules" card.
Climber & Class
During setup, the new climber and class can be combined with any other climber and class from the core game or other expansions.
Edge
Edge has immersed himself deeply into the unseen magical forces of the world.
With "Embrace the Void," you can consistently focus Edge, offering wide flexibility to empower his skills and those of your chosen class pairing.
Clarifications
- When you use focus with "Beyond Limits," you may increase either the number of drawn or kept cards.
Harvester
The Harvester siphons the energy in binding crystals, building up to unleash incredible feats of skill.
A powerful, double-sided skill card exists outside the Harvester deck. To obtain it, use the skills and abilities with "Harvest" keyword, accumulating value on the Harvester die.
When the die reaches 6, choose and draw either side of the card "Unleash" / "Reality Rift" to your hand. Then, use the card for its massive 6 action points, or play it as a powerful skill.
Clarifications
- When "Unleash" / "Reality Rift" is in hand, it is treated like any other skill card: it counts toward "hand limit" and is usable as a skill or for AP.
- Once added to your hand, you cannot flip "Unleash" / "Reality Rift" to the other side.
- If the die reaches 6 while you still have "Unleash" / "Reality Rift" in hand, the die still resets to 1.
Leviathans
During setup, choose any of the new leviathans to face.
Keeper
The entry to the Old Kingdom outpost is magically sealed, and this creature jealously guards the key. Climbers begin their journey at the top of the map, descending into the Keeper's lair.
Ravager
A brutal creature assaults trespassers with unrelenting ferocity. One unlucky climber at a time takes the brunt of its aggression through the priority token.
Flux
A frightening experiment with Old Kingdom relics embedded directly its skull. The Flux's scales shift from round to round, changing the effects of special terrain.
Clarifications
- If you are falling, resolve "Instability" Push 1 (upward arrow) effects only once.
- If multiple climbers are affected by Backlash, reveal the tokens once and apply them to all those affected.
Dwelling
A crumbling structure is barely held together by strange growth overlays. These overlays flip back and forth, changing the shape of the map.
Infestation
A fallen statue head conceals a skittering multitude. Vermin spawn throughout the map (including on climbers), connected to a large crystal pool.
Clarifications
- You cannot use "Smash!" to remove multiple vermin with a single strike.
- Vermin threat and special rules effects still apply when the crystal pool is empty.
Architect
A small, agile leviathan remains committed to preserving a structure long-past saving. The Architect scampers throughout the map, pulling in climbers with its long, sticky tongue.
Clarifications
- If a climber is left behind when the Architect flees, they enter the matching space "underneath" and apply any terrain.
Anomaly
Deep within the outpost, a leviathan of pure energy has been harnessed within a vast chamber that defies natural law. Without gravity, climbers must learn to float.
Clarifications
- When your climber changes the direction they're facing, rotate their figure to match.
- Jump diagrams use your figure's facing to determine which spaces are eligible to jump to (i.e., "up" on the card matches "up" on your figure). After you use a jump diagram you keep the same facing.
- Push effects resolve based on normal orthogonal directions of the map (not climber facing). After being pushed, each of the effects rotates your figure in that direction.
