How many Fame cards do I use, including when mixing common sets?

The Fame deck is cut to a number of face-down cards (not counting King of Kings) set by player count: 6 for two players, 7 for three and 8 for four, plus one more with Trade Routes. When mixing sets, use the same numbers; which cards get cut is random, which is not broken.
