Components
- 45 new cards
- 2 player boards
- 2 sets of small cubes
- Figures for caravans and tents
- 10 dice
Using the Expansion
The cards from this expansion are marked with a map symbol in the lower left corner.
You can simply add these components to the game and shuffle the new cards together with the base game cards. However, we recommend playing at least the first few games without the cards from the expansion.
Items
This expansion adds a new card type: items. You can play an item into your caravan at any time after paying its cost, just as you would a creature card.
To equip an item, you must place it on a creature card that does not already have an item equipped.
- Each item requires a certain keyword. You must equip the item to a creature card that has the required keyword. For example, the Dawn Crystal (Jitřní krystal) can only be equipped to a creature with the keyword Resident or Nocturnal.
- Once an item is equipped to a creature, you may not move it to another creature, nor discard it.
- Item cards do not count toward the 12-card limit of your caravan, but each creature may have only 1 item equipped.
- When you equip a creature with an item card, slide the item under the creature card so that the illustration and the purple requirement bar of the creature card are covered.
- Keywords printed on items count for abilities and for the requirements for collecting victory points, in the same way as those on creature cards. Example: when you equip a creature with the Dawn Crystal, you add the keywords Resident and Nocturnal to your caravan.
Figure (the card example on the insert): The Dawn Crystal card is shown with the requirement bar reading "Requirement: Resident or Nocturnal" at the bottom of the illustration. An arrow labelled "Required keyword" points to this bar. The card's type line reads "Resident, Nocturnal", its name is "Dawn Crystal", and its effect text reads: "When you attack, you may discard coins to gain +4 attack strength for each discarded coin."
Solo Game Changes
The Wanderers expansion contains a new bot for solo play, with several changes to the rules. When you play with this bot:
- After placing a pair of fours, fives or sixes on the top space, place the remaining dice from top to bottom, starting with the six.
- On the third, fifth and sixth spaces from the top, place all dice with the matching value (not just one die).
- When setting up a solo game, do not give this bot any pair of cards listed in the base game rules. Instead, it starts with either the Grumbling Jeweler (Kňouří klenotník) card or the Bird Scholars (Ptačí učenci) card, your choice.
- When the bot has at least 5 treasure chests, it rolls 1 extra die on its turn. It never rolls more than 6 dice.
- When playing with item cards, the bot treats them as creature cards (it does not need to equip creatures with them).
