Preparation
Place the Tapir enclosure face-up in the middle of the table.
Playing the Game
All rules of the original game apply with the following changes:
The first player, who fills his 6-space enclosure takes the enclosure with the Tapir as a bonus*. He takes it from the middle of the table, placing it below his zoo board, near his barn. The Tapir enclosure remains with this player until the end of the game. The player may place no other tiles in the Tapir enclosure. If it is the owner's turn he can pay 1 coin to exchange all tiles of one animal type from his barn with all tiles of one animal type from another player's barn as an additional action before or after his usual action. This is possible only once in the game. The player puts the coin on the Tapir enclosure and it remains there until the end of the game.
* If Tapir is played with Katta, Gorilla, and/or other similar expansions, the first player may choose which enclosure to take. Other players choose from the remaining enclosures when filling their own 6-space enclosure.
Scoring
A coin on the Tapir enclosure is not considered during scoring.
