Rules
You should follow these rules:
- You can only fill a square if one of the dice touches it.
- Only one number can be entered in any one square.
- Write the number as large as possible, so that the dice does not cover it.
- A lower number can be on a square which is already crossed off, or your own.
- If all the dice land on squares which are already filled in, you cannot roll again, and the turn passes to the next player.
- When it is their turn, a player may rotate the playing area in order to aim.
- Dice only count if they land on the playing surface. All three dice must be used for each new throw.
- A point must be marked below the numbers 6 and 9, otherwise only the number 6 counts.
- You must write in your very first throw straight away. For subsequent throws you can choose whether to write in the score, or roll again in order to get a higher score. Now there are two possible outcomes: 1. Your score is the same or lower than the original score; the points don't count, and you must cross off one of your own squares. 2. Your score is higher than the previous throw: You can enter this score, or even try to beat it again.
"Rule 9" in the text below refers to the ninth point of this list, as the game manual cross-references it.
Let's Go!
Place a game sheet in the playing area.
The players choose a coloured pencil and roll the dice to decide who starts. The player with the highest score starts.
The first throw counts!
You first throw all three dice into the playing area at the same time. Add up the score. You must enter the total on a square which one of the dice is touching. You cannot roll again on the first throw.
Let's Go On
Play continues clockwise.
From now on you can roll the dice as many times as you want before you enter a number. However, the next throw must be higher than the one before. Please look out for Rule 9.
Crossing out your own field
If you want to want to enter a score on a square beside one occupied by another player, you must look out for the following:
Crossing out the opponent's fields
- If your score is higher than the other player's, then you can cross off all opponents' scores which are lower, and immediately beside your square (vertically and horizontally).
You can also decide to throw again. Please look out for Rule 9.
Blocking of empty fields
- If your score is the same or lower than the other player's, and you can't fill any other square, you must take up a square which is touched by one of the dice.
You can also decide to throw again to try to get a better score. Please look out for Rule 9.
Note: the English text says "take up a square"; the German original says "sperren" (block). Transcribed as printed in the English edition.
End of the game
The game is over when a vertical or horizontal line is filled in. It doesn't matter if the squares are blocked or filled with a player's points. Circle all scoring ie not crossed off, squares, and count your squares. Do not add up your scores, only the number of squares counts. In case of a draw, the winner is the player with the highest total score.
