Game Idea

Wiggling cow Elsa stands on a large heap of grass bales. Try to loosen the bales with the hay fork from the heap and carefully pull them out and off the game board. Watch out! Elsa must not fall over. The aim of the game is to collect the most bales of grass without tipping Elsa the cow.

Preparation of the Game

Place the game board in the center of the table. Pile up the bales of grass (=cards) to form a heap in the middle of the game board, making sure no bale juts out off the game board.

Then one player places Elsa carefully on the heap. Get the hay fork ready next to the game board.

How to place Elsa on the heap of grass:

  • Hold Elsa over the heap.
  • Carefully pull her tail and Elsa's hind legs will stiffen.
  • Keeping hold of the tail, carefully place Elsa on top of the heap.

How to Play

Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever can moo most like a cow starts the game. If you can not agree, the youngest player starts.

Get the hay fork and try to push a bale off the game board without making Elsa fall over. (collect bales with fork)

Important farmer's rules: (follow farmer's rules)

  • During your turn Elsa may not be touched by hand or with the fork.
  • Elsa may not leave the game board.
  • The bales of grass may only be touched with the fork.
  • While using the fork various bales may be touched but always only one must be pushed off the game board.
  • If by chance you move several bales off the game board at the same time they are taken out of the game.

Failing to follow any of these rules disqualifies you from your turn and becomes the next player's turn.

Did you manage to push a bale off the game board without Elsa tipping over or her legs caving in?

  • Yes? Well done! Take the bale and place it in front of you! (done = take bale)
  • No? Bad luck! Your turn is over and you don't win a bale this round. The bales remain where they are and you place Elsa - by pulling up her tail - back on top of the heap. (failed = your turn is over, Elsa back on heap)

Then pass the fork to the next player who tries their luck.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as ...

  • the last bale has been pushed off the meadow

or

  • Elsa has fallen over again and again in the same round, and each player has tried their luck.

Stack up your bales. Whoever has the tallest pile, wins the game. In the case of a draw there are various winners. (next player; most bales = winner)

Variation for Expert Players

The game is played as in the basic version, except for the following changes:

It's not the bales that count but the number of flowers shown on the cards. The number of flowers can differ on the front and the back of the cards. Turn the cards to the side with the most flowers and count them. The winner with the most flowers wins the game. In case of a draw there are various winners.

Example (card images are shown in the printed instructions):

  • Three cards shown = 6 points
  • Two cards shown = 3 points
