Contents

  • 1 ocean (3-piece puzzle board)
  • 4 water dragons (3 pieces each)
  • 1 island (cardholder)
  • 36 cards
  • 1 die

Game Setup

Assemble the ocean puzzle board by placing the three game board pieces in the center of the table and connecting the pieces.

Each player chooses a water dragon. A water dragon is made up of three pieces in one color; a head, middle, and tail. Place the pieces on the corresponding markings in the ocean, so that they are in a row.

Put any water dragons that are not needed back into the box.

Place the island card holder anywhere on one side of the game board so it can be reached easily. Shuffle the cards and place them face-down in a pile on the meadow on the island. Turn over the four top cards right away and place them on the four spaces in yellow, red, blue, and black.

Have the die ready.

How To Play

Players take turns in a clockwise direction. Who can swim as well as a water dragon? You go first and roll the die.

General Dragon Rules

  • You can roll the die up to three times during your turn. If you aren't happy with your first or second roll, you can roll again one more time.
  • But the third time you roll the die you must follow what it says! If you are happy with your roll, carry out the action shown on the card on the part of the island that corresponds to the color you rolled.

What does the die show?

  • Yellow, red, blue or black: Pick up the corresponding card from the island and perform the movement shown with your water dragon. Place the card face-up on the discard pile (beach). You then turn over a new card from the draw pile right away and place it on the empty space on the island.

What does the card show?

  • Each card shows either the tail, the middle or the head of a water dragon and a number. You may move the body part shown forward by the number of steps shown. For example, if you pick a card with a number 5 and the water dragon's tail, you move your tail 5 steps forward on the ocean board.

No overtaking: The individual body parts of a water dragon may not overtake each other; at the most a piece may be moved to a space behind another piece. Extra steps are forfeited. For example, if your tail piece comes too close to your middle, you will need to stop and you will not be able to take any more steps on that turn.

  • The Jokerdragon card = card includes a head, middle, tail, and a number: You may split up two, three, or four steps however you like among the various body parts of your dragon.

  • Shark card: Your water dragon gets a big fright and makes itself very small: pull the head and tail to the middle of your water dragon!

Die faces

  • 2x: This action is always the same and consists of two parts:
    1. You may split up two steps however you like among the various body parts of your dragon.
    2. Each time you carry out this action, clear all four cards from the island and place them face-up on the discard pile. Then turn over four new cards from the draw pile and place them on the four spaces on the island.
  • Gold Star: Choose any color you like and carry out the corresponding action.

Important

  • You must choose one action during your turn, even if you can't carry it out. Place this card on the discard pile and replace it with a new card.
  • When the draw pile is used up, shuffle the face-up discard pile to make a new draw pile.
  • The dragon start spaces are counted as normal spaces in the course of the game.

Then it's the next child's turn to roll the die.

End of the Game

The winner is the first player to get all three body parts of their water dragon to reach the three beach spaces in front of its nest.

Example end of the game: The green dragon wins.
