Expansion Pack Overview

The Witch Hunter Expansion Pack is a card expansion for Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game. The Witch Hunter is added to the pool of available Heroes during Step II: Choose Heroes of the Initial Setup. The Witch Hunter is compatible with all other heroes and game components.

Components:

  • 3 Hero Cards
  • 8 Action Cards
  • 3 Gear Cards

Hero Cards

The Witch Hunter has three hero cards. Each card shows a different health value and a different number of hero icons in the top-right corner. During setup, the party uses the hero card whose number of hero icons matches the number of heroes in the party (see Health Modifiers in the base game rules).

Witch Hunter – 12 Health

  • Health: 12
  • Hero icons: 4 (for a four-hero party)
  • Rules text: None printed.

Witch Hunter – 16 Health

  • Health: 16
  • Hero icons: 3 (for a three-hero party)
  • Rules text: If this hero is the party leader, he activates twice during each hero phase.

Witch Hunter – 24 Health

  • Health: 24
  • Hero icons: 2 (for a two-hero party)
  • Rules text: This hero activates twice during each hero phase.

Card Notes

  • Wound icon: The printed blood-drop icon appears where the text says a hero recovers or an enemy suffers damage. It is rendered here as "wounds", matching the base game's wound tokens. The icon is inferred from its context, not from a printed word.
  • Die icons: The die icons after each action name are rendered as a number of white dice. This follows the base game rule that the active hero gathers one white die for each die icon after an action's name.
  • Prepare icon: The circular-arrows icon at the bottom right of Reload and Witchfinder's Respite is the prepare icon, as named in the base game rules. It is shown here as a note on the card, not as text printed on the card.
  • Attack icon: The crossed-axes icon in the "+1" text on Reload and Witchfinder's Respite is matched to the crossed-axes symbol on the Attack action badge. It is rendered as "[attack icon]". This is a reading of the icon, not printed wording.
  • Unidentified icons: Two icons could not be identified at the resolution of the photographs. They are marked in the text and are not guessed (four card occurrences in total):
    • The black three-lobed icon in "apply -1 [unidentified icon]" on Witchfinder's Respite and Burn, Heretic!.
    • The black disc icon in "you may claim 1 [unidentified token icon]" on Demand Confession and Seeker's Triumph. It is probably a token, but this is not confirmed from the photographs.
  • Hero icons: The number of hero icons on each hero card was counted from the photographs (4, 3 and 2). The health values come from the red medallions.
  • Omitted text: The flavour quotations on the Hero and Action cards, including their attributions, are omitted. All other printed card text is transcribed.
