Ready Armies

Players may build 1 regiment from the Wood Elf or Lizardmen disks included in this expansion. The new Empire and High Elf disks serve as support for these races.

If a player does not want to build his own Dwarf army, he may use a ready-made army instead, choosing the specified number of regiments described below using the format: Hero: Units; Command cards.

  • Grombrindal the White Dwarf: 1 Runic Cannon, 1 Ancestor Statue, 1 Master Engineer, 1 Warriors of Karak Azul; Fury Born of Injury, Grim Determination.
  • Queen Helga: 1 Flame Cannon, 1 Gyrocopter, 1 Miners of Karak Hirn, 1 Venerable Runesmith; Rune of Rending, Rune of Magic Suppression.
  • Thorgrim Grudgebearer: 2 Hammerers of Karaz-a-Karak, 2 Thunderers of Karaz-a-Karak; Unyielding, Shield Wall.

Translation note: the ready-army section lists Rune of Rending and Rune of Magic Suppression in the command-card slot. The insert's components list calls the five rune pieces "battle ability tokens". Both are reproduced as printed.

General Rules

Disks with a value of "-". A disk with a value of "-" does not have that value. Abilities do not affect "-" values. "-" values cannot be increased or decreased. A disk with a movement value of "-" cannot be turned.

Disk Keywords

The following describes the rules that apply when playing with the components of this expansion.

Keywords are special abilities printed on a disk.

Setup (Ustawienie). A disk with the Setup keyword may be placed anywhere outside the enemy's deployment zones, so that it does not pin another disk. If a disk is placed outside the player's deployment zones, it does not count toward the deployment value limit.

Fear (Straszny). When a disk with the Fear keyword pins an enemy disk, the base counter strength of that disk is treated as 1. The base counter strength is the value printed on the disk. It may be increased by abilities of disks, cards and empowerment tokens while the disk is under the effect of Fear.

Guard X (Straż X). A disk with the Guard keyword deals physical damage equal to the Guard value to each enemy disk that pins it after a flip. A disk cannot deal Guard damage to a disk that pinned it before performing its flip. Guard damage is not dealt when a disk with the Flying keyword moves over a disk with the Guard keyword but does not end its movement on it.

Poison (Trucizna). When a disk with the Poison keyword deals damage in melee or with its ranged attack, place a poison token on the disk that received the damage. When damage tokens are to be removed from a disk with a poison token, remove 1 poison token instead. If a disk receives a wound, remove both its damage tokens and its poison tokens.

Stalwart (Mężny). A disk with the Stalwart keyword may be activated while it is pinned, in order to use a focus ability or make a ranged attack. A player does not need to activate a pinned disk with Stalwart when resolving a command card.

Terrain

Terrain card. The terrain card lists two terrain pieces, each with keywords and an effect. The two-sided terrain token carries the terrain artwork; the text layer of the insert does not assign its faces to the two pieces, so no pairing is stated here.

  • Dwarf Forge (Krasnoludzka Kuźnia): Defensive (Obronny) and Cover (Zasłona). If a player controls this terrain, allied Dwarf heroes receive the Runesmith ability (kowal run).
  • Mine Entrance (Wejście do Kopalni): Fortified (Ufortyfikowany). When you place this terrain, you may deploy 1 small or medium disk so that it overlaps it.

For the Defensive, Cover and Fortified keywords, see "Terrain Abilities" in the base rulebook.

Sample Disks

The insert shows the following sample disks. Attack, movement and counter values are printed as icons that the text layer does not reproduce, so only the traits, keywords and printed abilities are listed here.

Dryads of Athel Loren (Driady z Athel Loren). Traits: Leśny and Łazik (English names not confirmed). Printed ability: when this disk overlaps rough terrain (trudny teren), empower this disk.

Silver Helms (Srebrne Hełmy). Trait: Cavalry (Kawaleria). Keywords: Impact 3 (Uderzenie 3), Swift (Szybki).

Salamander (Salamandra). Traits: Monster (Potwór), Mobile (Mobilny). Icon ability: deal k6-1 damage to a chosen disk within close range.

Runic Cannon (Działo runiczne). Trait: War Machine (Machina wojenna). Icon ability: Siege (Oblężniczy), 4 attack dice. The printed text also treats two of the attack-result symbols as a third symbol (symbols not reproduced here).

Flame Cannon (Działo płomieniowe). Traits: War Machine (Machina wojenna), Stalwart (Mężny). Icon ability: a medium-range attack; if the die roll shows one of two printed symbols during a ranged attack, deal 2 damage to each other disk within close range of the target.

Card note: the damage, value and icon symbols on these disks are not reproduced here and are not guessed.

Deployment Card

Palisade (Palisada), deployment card. Disks overlapping this zone receive Stalwart (Mężny). The card shows a value of 3, the meaning of which is not stated in the text layer.

Scenario Cards

Formation Shift (Przesunięcie szyku), scenario card. Reveal 1 additional deployment card per player. Each player must create at least 2 deployment zones.

Objective (Cel): You receive 5 victory points for each player whose deployment zones are overlapped by your disks.

Underground Fighting (Walki w podziemiu), special scenario card. Small or medium disks overlapping terrain tokens may perform a move action to move to any other terrain. The controlling player places the disk so that it overlaps another chosen terrain token. In addition to the normal victory condition, a player wins if at the end of the round he controls more than two terrain pieces.

Command Cards and Battle Ability Tokens

The insert prints the text of one Dwarf ability and one battle ability token. The text of the other command cards is not legible in the insert.

Runesmith (Kowal run). Until the end of the round, a chosen disk with the Runesmith ability within close range receives the bonuses shown by the two icons on the card (not reproduced here). Mark this effect with a Rune of Rending token (Runa rozpłatania).

Card note: the bonus values are icon-based and are not guessed.
