Card Contents

Woodcutter (character card)

• Card name: Woodcutter
• Card art: A woman with dark hair tied back, carrying a long log over one shoulder.
• Cost: A number 2 in a dark circle (top left), with a hammer icon below it.
• Top-right icons: A green panel with a play/plus symbol, and a stacked-cards symbol with a circular arrow.
• Bottom panel: A stone-pile icon, an arrow, then a gold icon and an Ink Well icon separated by a slash.

Overseer (character card)

• Card name: Overseer
• Card art: A man with red hair and a red cape, with a key on a chain around his neck.
• Cost: A number 2 in a dark circle (top left), with a fleur-de-lis icon below it.
• Top-right icons: A green panel with a play/plus symbol, and a stacked-cards symbol with a circular arrow.
• Bottom panel: A crown-and-fleur-de-lis icon, an arrow, then an Ink Well icon and a Stone icon separated by a slash.

Deacon (character card)

• Card name: Deacon
• Card art: A bald, heavyset monk in a brown robe, holding a document, with a church and trees behind him.
• Cost: A number 2 in a dark circle (top left), with a cross icon below it.
• Top-right icons: A green panel with a play/plus symbol, and a stacked-cards symbol with a circular arrow.
• Bottom panel: A stone-and-cross icon, an arrow, then a Stone icon and a gold icon separated by a slash.

Note on the wording: the cards print no words for their abilities. The trigger is shown by the action icon in the bottom panel (hammer, fleur-de-lis, cross), and the reward by the resource icons. The trigger names below use the base game's names for those action icons: the hammer is the Builder icon of Construct a Building, the fleur-de-lis is the Noble icon of Place Workers, and the cross is the Cleric icon of Transcribe a Manuscript. The card's own wording is not printed, so these names are a reading of the icons, not quoted text.

Card Abilities

Woodcutter: When you take a Build action (the hammer icon, Construct a Building in the base game), gain 1 Gold or 1 Ink Well.

Overseer: When you take a Noble action (the fleur-de-lis icon, Place Workers in the base game), gain 1 Ink Well or 1 Stone.

Deacon: When you take a Cleric action (the cross icon, Transcribe a Manuscript in the base game), gain 1 Stone or 1 Gold.

Note on the wording: each card gives a choice between two resources, shown by the slash between the two reward icons. The player picks one of the two. The cards do not say when the reward is gained within the action; they are read as a reward for taking the action.

Card Notes

• These are three new character cards, each with its own ability. They are added to the base game's character cards.
• Gold, Stone and Ink Well are the base game's resource components. Their use and the rules for gaining and spending them are as set out in the base game rules.
• The card's own cost icon (the number 2 with a hammer, fleur-de-lis or cross) is not an ability and is not described further here.
