Game Contents

  • 15 animal tiles (with 15 different animals)
  • 4 forest pieces (with different numbers of spaces): 15 spaces, 10 spaces, 6 spaces, 4 spaces
  • 1 animal circle
  • 1 marker
  • 1 rulebook

Goal of the Game

The goal is to collect the most animal tiles by remembering the animals' hiding places as well as you can.

Setup

Before the first game, carefully press all parts out of the punchboards.

A. Place the animal circle in the middle of the table. Note: The animal circle gives you an overview of all 15 animals in the game.

B. Place the 4 forest pieces around the animal circle so that they are arranged clockwise from large (15 spaces) to small (4 spaces).

C. Shuffle all animal tiles face down and, without looking, place 5 of them, still face down, on any spaces of the largest forest piece (15 spaces).

D. Place the remaining 10 animal tiles face up on the 10 spaces of the second-largest forest piece. Take a moment to look at the 10 animals and remember them as well as you can. Then turn them over onto their backs, shuffle them well and distribute them (still face down) on the 10 spaces of this forest piece.

E. Place the marker at the second-largest forest piece (10 spaces). Note: This is now the "current forest piece".

The youngest player begins.

Gameplay

You play clockwise.

When it is your turn, you say 1 animal out loud and then turn over any 1 animal tile from the "current forest piece". As a reminder: the "current forest piece" is always the one where the marker stands.

Then check:

  • Did you turn over the animal you named? Great! Keep the animal tile and place it in front of you.
  • Did you turn over a different animal than the one you named? Too bad, but no problem! Place the animal tile face up on the next forest piece clockwise.

In both cases it is the next player's turn.

Keep going until either

  • no animal tile is left on the "current forest piece", or
  • all spaces on the next forest piece clockwise are occupied by animal tiles.

Example: Here all spaces on the next forest piece clockwise are occupied by animal tiles.

Now move the marker to the next forest piece clockwise.

Turn all animal tiles of the new "current forest piece" face down, shuffle them well and distribute them face down on the spaces again.

Continue in this way, forest piece by forest piece, until the end of the game occurs.

Note: After the smallest forest piece (4 spaces), the largest forest piece (15 spaces), on which face-down animal tiles already lie, follows clockwise again. Always mix the already face-down animal tiles together with the newly arrived face-up animal tiles after you have turned them all face down.

End of the Game

The game ends immediately when someone has taken the last animal tile. Whoever has collected the most animal tiles wins. In case of a tie, all players involved in the tie share the victory.
