Overview
Played with 3-6 players. The winner is the first player to get rid of all of their hand cards.
Each card holds 4 pieces of information (text, text colour, background colour and fruit). When a player plays a card, they must correctly name one of these pieces of information.
Setup
The entire card deck is shuffled well and dealt face down to the players. If cards are left over because the deal would otherwise be uneven, they are set aside.
Play
The player wearing the most colourful clothing starts the game and turns over the top card of the deck in the middle of the table. They must then do one of the following:
- Name the text colour.
- Name the background colour.
- Stay silent.
- Name the fruit shown.
- Call someone a plum.
Play then continues clockwise, until a player has no cards left and thereby wins.
If an answer takes too long (3 seconds), is stammered, is stumbled over, or is answered incorrectly, the other participants may stop the round:
- Whoever notices a mistake slaps the flat hand on the played cards in the middle of the table. They may then distribute this pile among the other players. At least 50% must go to the player who got it wrong, and the rest may be distributed freely among the other players.
- Whoever slaps the pile without justification must take all of the cards themselves.
- If a possible mistake is only noticed once the next player is already taking their turn, it is too late to complain about it.
End of the Game
Whoever first gets rid of all of their hand cards wins the game.
The 5 Rules to Observe
The sheet shows five card types, each with an example.
- The text is coloured: the player names the text colour. (Example shown: green.)
- The text is black: the player names the background colour. (Example shown: yellow.)
- The text is written incorrectly: the player says nothing and stays silent.
- The card is internally consistent (black text = the name of the depicted fruit, and the background colour = the colour of that fruit): the player names the fruit. (Example shown: orange.) Note: in the example shown, orange is always pronounced as the fruit.
- The plum scenario (black text = "Plum", fruit = plum, and background colour = purple): instead of the fruit, the player names the name of another player. That player is the biggest plum at the table and must then take the two bottom cards from the discard pile in the middle of the table.
Optional Rules
The sheet notes that expert players also like to play with the following optional rules:
- Kauderwelsch (Gibberish): spelling mistakes are no longer covered up, and every word is read out exactly as it is written.
- Spaßbremse (Killjoy): whoever has to laugh is dealt one card each by the other players.
- Taktgefühl (Sense of Rhythm): a metronome sets the speed of play. Whoever fails to play their card in time may be interrupted.
