Rules Card

The Plant Cards in the Potless Plants Mini-expansion function the same as the Plant Cards in the base game of Verdant, with the following exceptions:

Potless plants do not have a specific verdancy requirement and do not gain Verdancy Tokens. Instead, each time a potless plant gains verdancy, either from a Nurture Action or a Room Card lighting condition matching, the player receives one Green Thumb Token from the supply. There is no limit to the number of times this may be triggered - each time that a Verdancy Token would be added, the player receives a Green Thumb Token instead.

Potless plants may not be 'completed', therefore, they do not receive a Pot Token at any point during the game. However, potless plants always score 2 points at the end of the game, regardless of the number of times that the plant gained verdancy.

Both the Potless Plant Cards and Goal Cards can be shuffled into the standard decks of cards from the base Verdant game to add more variety to the plant and goal options. There is no need to remove cards from any of the decks when adding the Potless Plants Mini-expansion cards.

Potless Plant Cards

The expansion contains 10 Potless Plant Cards. Each card shows its plant name, a plant-type banner, lighting icons, and a gold "2" scoring value. Per the Rules Card, potless plants have no verdancy requirement, never receive a Pot Token, and always score 2 points at game end.

Goal Cards

The expansion contains 6 Goal Cards. Each card's text is transcribed as printed; the points value is the gold number on the card.

• Match Three (3 points): for each room with three or more plant type matches
• Balancing Act (4 points): for having all rooms with at least one plant type match
• Nobody to Impress (3 points): for each matching item in a room that is not adjacent to any matching plants
• Three of a Kind (10 points): for having three of the same item in your home
• Narrow Necessities (1 point): for each completed plant that prefers only a single lighting condition
• Loved Lines (2 points): for each row with all plants completed

Notes and Gaps

• Green Thumb Token supply: the Rules Card says the player receives a Green Thumb Token "from the supply" and does not state how many to supply or whether the expansion adds its own tokens. The base Verdant rulebook lists 36 Green Thumb Tokens in the base components. No separate token is included with this expansion.
• Lighting icons and plant-type icons: the printed lighting-condition and plant-type icons on the Potless Plant Cards are not legible enough in the source photograph to transcribe individually. They are not reproduced here. Players should use the card faces for these.
• Plant card scoring value: each card's gold "2" matches the Rules Card's statement that potless plants always score 2 points at game end.
