Vault: A Den of Thieves Rulebook

Overview

This expansion for Vault: A Solitaire Dice Game was designed specifically for BGA (Board Game Arena), as a way to make the game multiplayer, however, you can now play the game at home as well! The rules are the same as the original game, the only difference is that all players get the same game sheet, and the same sets of rolls, as they compete to be the best safe cracker. Will you reign as the Pink Panther, or will your name be forgotten? Find out in Vault: A Den of Thieves!

Components Needed

  • You will need one of the same level sheets for all players, as well as the rules to the base game. You can find the free version on Board Game Geek, and the premium / paid version on PnP Arcade.
  • You will also need to print out the file included in this folder. This document accommodates 2 players, so print accordingly.
  • You will need 5 dice for the whole table.
  • You will need one writing utensil for each player.

Setup

  • Give each player 1 level sheet, one "Den of Thieves" sheet, and 1 writing utensil.
  • Choose one player to roll the dice.
  • You are now ready to begin.

Gameplay

Like the base game there are twelve rounds. However, because you are sharing the same dice, you will need to use the "Den of Thieves" sheet to keep track of the die rolls. After each roll, all players will decide which of the dice they would like to keep, and write those numbers into the squares of that round. If a player chooses to reroll, they do so independently of all the other players. They roll as many times as they want, then lock their dice in by writing them on the sheet. Once you have used all your rerolls, you may no longer reroll.

Once all players have finished out a round, they roll all the dice and the next round begins. You may rotate the player who rolls, or just keep it the same person, the choice is up to you.

Extra Gemstones

Unlike the base game of Vault, players gain additional gemstones for completing groups of rounds successfully.

  • A-B-C = 3 Gemstones
  • D-E-F = 2 Gemstones
  • G-H-I = 1 Gemstone

End of the Game

Once all players have finished rounds A-J, the game is over. Total up gemstones, including gems gained from completing groups of rounds, and the player with the highest score wins. If there is a tie, then the player with the most remaining skimmers and rerolls is the winner. If there is still a tie, the player who took the least amount of time to take their turns is the winner.
