Draft Setup

Shuffle each Battle Cards Deck. Place them face down, then flip one card face up below each deck.

Place Llamas, Helmets and Blessings face up in three separate rows.

The Draft

Players start the with a 4 round snake draft to select their llama, a helmet, a blessing and a starting hand.

The starting hand, consisting of 2 Battle Cards, is selected in one turn from the face up cards or the draw decks. If a face up card is selected, the next card in the deck is immediately flipped to replace it.

To start, each player takes one die and rolls; highest number chooses who picks first.

Once all selections are made, return any remaining Llamas, Helmets and Blessings to the box.

Player Setup

Players should place their Llama, Helmet and Blessing in front of them as shown below.

Add together the Health numbers on your Llama and Helmet cards, take the corresponding number of green gems and place them on your Helmet. This is your maximum Health for the fight.

Add together the Vigor numbers on your Llama and Blessing cards, take the corresponding number of blue gems and place them on your Blessing. This is your maximum Vigor for the fight.

If your Blessing or Helmet has circle inside of a square then you should also take a red cube and place it on that spot. These cards have an ability that can only be used once per fight. When spent, the cube should be moved off of the card.

Gameplay

To start each round, all players will roll their die. The person with the highest roll takes the first player marker and goes first. Play continues clockwise until the round is complete. If a roll ends in a tie, the highest rollers will reroll until a victor is decided. If a player has acquired extra dice, they will only reroll the tying dice.

On your turn, you regain two spent Vigor by moving two blue gems back onto your Blessing. You cannot go above your maximum Vigor.

On their turn, a player can draw a card, play a card and discard a card. None of them are required and you may do them in any order. Every player has a hand limit of 3 cards. You may not use a draw action with a full hand.

When you draw a card, you can choose either a face up card or a blind draw. If a face up card is chosen, replace it from the draw deck. When a draw deck is empty, shuffle the discard pile and replace it.

When you play or discard a card, place it in a discard pile above the card of the same type.

To play most cards you must spend Vigor. The cost is on the upper left of each Battle Card. When spent, move the blue gems off of your Blessing.

If attacked, move that number of Health off your Helmet card. If you heal, return the number.

Once every player has had a turn, start a new round by rolling the dice.

Defeating Another Llama

If you strike the final blow to another llama, you get the spoils. Add the player's die to your pool for initiative rolls. You can also choose to swap either your Helmet or your Blessing for theirs. If their item has been spent (ie. the one free block per game has been used), Odin will power it back up for you.

When you have multiple dice on the initiative roll, each die is a separate roll. The numbers are not added together.

Instant Play

Instant Play cards or Helmet/Blessing effects can be played at any time and do not count towards your turn.

If you suffer an attack that will eliminate you from the game, the only Instant Play card or item you can use is Block. If you have two health and someone hits you for two or three damage you cannot then play a healing Instant Play.

In the event of multiple people trying to use Instant effects at the same time, whoever plays the card or announces the Helmet/Blessing effect first gets the effect first.

Ending the Game

The game ends when only one llama has Health gems. They have won the honor to enter Valhalla as well as bragging rights amongst everyone in the room.

Extra Rules

If you have an item that has not been spent (ie. you have not used your free healing), you may not spend it in the time between defeating an enemy and looting their equipment.
