Setup

When playing with this expansion, shuffle the 14 Thor's Support cards into the deck at the start of Setup step 1.

Playing Thor's Support

If you have a Thor's Support card in your hand, you may play it before the start of a battle between two other participants. You choose which of them receives Thor's Support. The Thor's Support card shows who can receive this help and what advantage it gives in the battle. The abilities of these cards are described in the Symbols section below (see pages 20–24 of the rulebook).

If the player who received Thor's Support wins the battle, the Thor's Support card goes to the Valhalla of the player who played it. It will earn that player glory points at the end of the game. If the player who received Thor's Support loses the battle, the Thor's Support card is discarded.

Before each battle, several participants may play Thor's Support cards, but each of them may play only 1 card.

Thor's Support Symbols

If a player has a Thor's Support card in hand, they may play it before the start of a battle between two other participants. They choose which of the two will be helped by Thor. A card can only be applied to a player who meets the card's requirement:

  • Eligibility symbol (fewer warriors): the player has fewer warriors than their opponent in the battle.
  • Eligibility symbol (fewer or equal warriors): the player has fewer or the same number of warriors as their opponent in the battle.

The player who is helped by Thor receives the bonus shown on the card:

  • Draw symbol (card from the deck): the player draws 1 card from the deck before the battle.
  • Reroll symbol: the player may reroll dice in the battle 1 time for free.
  • Draw symbol (card from the opponent's hand): the player draws 1 random card from their opponent's hand before the battle.
  • +2/+3 symbol: +2 or +3 to combat strength.
  • Extra die symbol: 1 additional die.
