The Fire Giants expansion consists of 40 cards.

Setup

The Fire Giants expansion consists of 40 additional cards, which must be shuffled into the deck during step 1 of the setup. The discard pile is created only after the Valkyrie cards have been added.

Editor's note: the sentence above names Valkyrie cards, not Fire Giants cards. It is printed that way in the Russian booklet and matches the setup wording of the Valkyries expansion, so it is transcribed as printed and not corrected.

Players use the special reference card marked with the +40 icon, which reminds them of the changes to the rules.

Changes to the Rules

Gameplay with the Fire Giants cards differs only in the players' turn, Phase B (marked with the red B icon). The player draws 3 cards instead of 2, and then keeps 1 of them. The remaining cards are placed face up on the discard pile.

Special Abilities on Fire Giant Cards

Each ability below is triggered when a Warrior with this Strength value is added to your team.

  1. [Icon: one figure and cards] After adding a Warrior with this Strength value to your team, you must discard 1 card from your hand. If you have no cards in your hand, you do not discard.

  2. [Icon: one figure, cards and an arrow] After adding a Warrior with this Strength value to your team, you must remove 1 Warrior from your team and return it to your hand. If you have only 1 Warrior in your team, you must not remove a Warrior.

  3. [Icon: arrow pointing left to a red figure, cards and an arrow] After adding a Warrior with this Strength value to your team, the player sitting to the left of the active player must remove 1 Warrior from their team and return it to their hand. If there are no Warriors in their team, this ability has no effect.

  4. [Icon: three red figures and one card] After adding a Warrior with this Strength value to your team, all other players must discard 1 card from their hand or player board. Each player chooses which card to discard, and this is done in turn order.

Battle Tactics Cards

[Icon: flame with an arrow and the Valhalla symbol, above a column of three symbols] This card can be played only before a battle.

The attacking player may choose one of their Warriors from their player board to send to their Valhalla. They simply choose one Warrior card from their play area and place it face down in their Valhalla.

After this, the defending player has the same option.

Using this card is optional for both players. If one player decides not to send a Warrior to Valhalla, the other may still do so.

If the attacker sent the only Warrior from their team to Valhalla, the battle ends immediately. If the defender sent the only Warrior from their team to Valhalla, and the attacker managed to activate at least one Warrior, the defender loses the battle.

[Icon: round emblem with crossed swords and dice with arrows] This card can be played only by the attacker in battle.

The player rolls 3 more dice onto the table. The defender chooses one of them and keeps it in their pool. The attacker takes the remaining two, adds them to their pool, and continues the attack phase.

The source prints the following paragraph below the dice card without an icon of its own. It is transcribed in this position as printed.

At the start of the phase, the defender rolls 6 regular dice and keeps one additional die without rerolling it. The defender may reroll the dice in accordance with the usual rules.
