Relic Cards Setup

During Game Setup, after each player has selected their Duke, shuffle all of the Relic cards, then deal 2 Relic cards to each player. Return undealt Relic cards to the box; they will not be used this game.

Each player selects 1 Relic card for this game and returns the unchosen Relic card to the box. Each player places their Relic card face-up in front of them in their kingdom for all other players to see. This is their Relic card for the rest of the game.

Continue Game Setup as normal.

Game Play

Each Relic card is unique. Relic cards may only be used on your turn as instructed in the Relic power text.

At any time during the game, opponents may read the power text on your Relic card. It is not secret.

Relic Card Powers

The 13 Relic cards are listed below by name, with each card's power text as printed. Resource icons are written as words, and the card-type icons are written as Domain, Citizen and Monster.

Cornelius Ring

As an Action, gain 1 Gold and you may buy a Domain.

Dragon Orb

As an Action, you may banish one of your Monsters and gain 5 Gold.

Evermap

When you buy a Domain, you may ignore 1 Domain requirement (shown as a black circle) or gain 1 Magic.

Fire Lance

As an Action, you may banish a Minion from the stacks to gain 2 Gold.

Gold Bastion

As an Action, gain 1 Strength and 1 Gold.

Lich Sword

As an Action, you may pay 1 Strength to gain 3 Magic.

Gaps and Notes

  • No full rulebook. This file covers only the setup and gameplay insert and the power text of the 13 Relic cards. Terms used on the cards and in the insert (Duke, Domain, Citizen, Monster, slay, recruit, buy, the stacks, the kingdom) are base-game terms defined in the Valeria: Card Kingdoms rulebook.
  • Banish icon. The red X icon on Dragon Orb, Fire Lance, Staff of Urdr and Treant Chest is not defined on the insert. It is written here as "banish", the term used for this icon in the Valeria rules.
  • Domain requirement icon. On Evermap, the black circle is written as "Domain requirement". The photographs do not name this icon, so this reading follows the card-text listing for the Relics set on the community Valeria Card Kingdoms wiki.
  • Treant Chest. Both icons on this card are a mixed-colour resource symbol, which is written here as "any one resource". This reading also follows the community wiki listing.
  • Staff of Urdr gain value. The clearest photograph of the card shows the gain as 5 Magic, which is the value used here. Another sleeved-card photograph and the community wiki listing show 4. Check the printed card before relying on this value.
  • Thunder Axe. The clearest photograph reads "ignore 1 Magic or 1 Strength". A lower-resolution sleeved-card photograph appears to read "ignore up to", which the clearer image does not show; the clearer reading is used here.
  • Source quality. No Relic rules PDF was found, so the wording comes from the printed insert and card faces as photographed. The photographs are small, and each icon was checked against a second photograph where possible. Anything not legible in the photographs has been left out rather than guessed.
