Object of Play
Players race to "build" their bridge and then roll all their coins across the bridge (down the groove) and into their cup. The first player to roll all their coins into their cup is the winner.
Game Contents
- 12 Bridge Blocks. Each set is made up of six blocks numbered 3 & 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 & 11.
- 8 Gold Coins
- 2 Cups
- 4 Dice
- Rule Book
Set Up
- Each player receives a set of bridge blocks, 2 dice, 4 coins and a cup.
- You begin the game with your bridge blocks on their sides (down). (see illustration #1)
- Place your cup at the end of your "3 & 4" block.
Playing the Game
- Players roll one die with the highest roll going first.
- The first player rolls both dice and stands up the bridge block that corresponds to the sum (total) of the dice roll. (For example: if you roll a 5 and a 4, you would stand up your #9 bridge block. If you roll a 1 and 2, you would stand up your 3 & 4 bridge block, etc.)
- After you roll and take an action, it is your opponent's turn to roll and take an action.
- If you roll a 7, you can choose ANY one of your bridge blocks to stand up.
- If you roll a number that corresponds to a block that is already standing, you can not take an action unless the roll is doubles.
Notes
If you roll doubles, you may choose to stand up one of your bridge blocks that corresponds to the total of the dice roll OR you may lay down the bridge block of your opponent that corresponds to the roll. (For example, if you roll double 4s, you may stand up your #8 block OR lay down your opponent's #8 block. You may only take one action.)
If you roll double 6s (box cars), you get to SET UP ALL YOUR BLOCKS.
If you roll double 1s (snake eyes), you must LAY DOWN ALL your blocks. (If your bridge is up, you do not get to roll a coin into the cup – you must set the entire bridge down.)
Every time you roll doubles, you get to roll again.
Completing Your Bridge and Winning the Game
If you have only one block remaining before completing your bridge, you can stand up that last block by rolling a 7, any doubles combination (except double 1s), or a number equal to the block.
Once you have all six bridge blocks standing, you must roll either a 7 or doubles (except double 1s) in order to send one of your coins down the bridge groove and into the cup.
After rolling a coin across the bridge and into the cup, you must lay down all your bridge blocks and begin re-building your bridge, as above. The game continues until a player has all four of their coins in the cup. This player wins the game.
Multi-Player Game
If you have more than one Two Bridges set you can play with multiple players. Game play is exactly the same as in two player play, with turns proceeding clockwise.
If a player roles doubles, (with the exception of double 1s), they may lay down the corresponding block of ANY opponent.
