Goal of the Game
Win 5 cards by answering the questions correctly.
Setup
- Give one Answer card to each player.
- Shuffle the Animal cards and stack them on the table, "question" sides face up, to form the draw pile.
Gameplay
1. Reveal the first cards
Turn over the first 5 Animal cards, slowly and one at a time, stacking them next to the draw pile. Each player tries to memorize them: the animals, the colors and the order.
The draw pile and the "Animals" pile sit side by side.
2. Answer the question
Each player must then answer the question shown on top of the draw pile. The question concerns all the cards revealed so far, in the "Animals" pile.
A card's "Question" side shows the question written out in full, the question as a diagram, and the possible answers.
To answer, each player places their Answer card face down with the corner showing their answer (the number, the animal, the color, "yes" or "no") pointing toward the central pile.
Example 1
To answer "Are there as many butterflies as parrots?", point the "Yes" corner or the "No" corner toward the central pile. Note: the Answer cards must be placed FACE DOWN. In the example, the player on the left answers yes and the player on the right answers no.
Example 2
To answer "What is the color of the animal on the 2nd card?", point one of the corners of your Answer card toward the central pile, face down (for example Blue or Yellow).
Example 3
To answer "How many red animals are there?", point one of the corners of your Answer card toward the central pile (for example 1-2 or 3-4).
3. Reveal the answers
All players simultaneously turn over their Answer cards.
- If everyone gives the same answer:
- Nobody wins a card and the answer is not checked.
- Simply turn over the top card of the draw pile and add it to the "Animals" pile. Memorizing becomes harder and harder as the animals accumulate!
- If not everyone gives the same answer to a question:
- Check by showing all players the stacked cards again, without changing their order.
- The players who answered correctly each win a card, which they take from the top of the draw pile.
- If all players were wrong, simply put the question card under the draw pile to reveal the next question.
4. Continue
The game continues: the players answer the new question, the one on top of the draw pile.
End of the Game
As soon as a player wins a 5th Animal card, they win the game! In case of a tie, play on until a single player has more cards than the others.
