Overview

  • Ages: 16+
  • Players: 3–6 (players may also play as teams)
  • Object: be the first player or team to collect 6 wedges by answering questions correctly.

Components

  • 1 Board
  • 1 Die
  • 200 Cards (1,200 questions)
  • 1 Card Holder
  • 6 Player Tokens
  • 36 Wedges

Categories

The question cards cover six categories, each shown by a colour:

  • Places
  • Entertainment
  • Events
  • Art
  • Nature and Technology
  • Sports and Pastimes

Setup

  • Each player or team chooses a player token and places it on the centre space of the board.
  • Shuffle the cards and place them in the card holder.

How to Play

  1. Decide who goes first. We suggest choosing the person wearing the most extravagant clothing!
  2. On your turn, roll the die and move that many spaces. You may move in any direction, but in one direction only.
  3. Take the card that is in the first position in the card holder.

If you land on a coloured Category space

  • Find the question in your category (the colour of the space you landed on) and read the question aloud so that all players can hear it.
  • Do you know the answer?
    • YES: Turn the card over to reveal the answer.
      • Did you get it right? YES: You win a wedge.
      • Did you get it right? NO: You do not win a wedge.
    • NO: Ask a friend.
      • Choose another player to help you. If you use your friend's answer and it is correct, you both win a wedge.
      • Turn the card over to reveal the answer.
      • Did you get it right? NO: You do not win a wedge. YES: You win a wedge.

If you land on a Wedge Wild space

  • Choose your category! But do not read the questions first.
  • Read the question from the category you chose aloud so that everyone can hear it. All players have the chance to "intervene" if they know the answer, by shouting: "I know it!" ("¡Yo lo sé!").
  • You have the first chance to answer. If you do not get it right, the player who "intervened" first has the chance to answer.
  • Note: On this space you cannot ask a friend.
  • Turn the card over to reveal the answer.
  • Did you get it right? YES: You win a wedge.
  • Did you get it right? NO: Make sure you do not read the answer aloud. The player who "intervened" first can now give their answer to the question.
    • Did that player get it right? YES: That player wins a wedge.
    • Did that player get it right? NO: That player loses a wedge.

Ending the turn

  • After the player wins a wedge: "Now it is the next player's turn."
  • Note: the printed sheet gives the "You do not win a wedge" and "That player loses a wedge" outcomes without a next-turn line of their own. The next-turn line is printed only after a wedge is won, and it is transcribed as printed.
