Components

  • 2 new modular boards
  • 5 ticket inspectors in the 5 player colors: 1 for each player
  • 10 Blue discs
  • This set of rules

Expansion #1: Rivers

Setup

Map: Remove the C- and G-type boards from the base game and replace them with the new ones from this expansion. As always, the new modular boards are 2-sided: the normal 1920, and the harder 1910.

Phase 2: Actions

Build New Rails on a Link:

  • You are never allowed to build curves on the rivers.
  • Building a straight bridge across a river costs +2 Build Rail icons (so, a river in a plain hex costs 3 Build Rail icons to build a track across).

Final Scoring

Each bridge across a river earns you an additional 2 Happiness Points.

Expansion #2: Ticket Inspectors

In this expansion, new revenue may come from your new employees: the Ticket Inspectors!

Setup

Each player takes his own Ticket Inspector and places it next to his Stress Track.

Phase 2: Actions

Move a Passenger: When you move a Passenger on a link with your Ticket Inspector on it, you get an additional 75% of revenue, rounded up. This bonus is calculated after the normal Revenue of the Link, upgraded or not.

Example: An upgraded Link of 5 rail tiles with a Ticket Inspector earns $5 + $3 (because it is an Upgraded Link) + $6 (75% of $8) for the Ticket Inspector = $14.

Each time you get revenue from your Ticket Inspector, you immediately get +1 Stress (apply all of the usual consequences).

If an opponent uses your link with a Ticket Inspector, the opponent player must pay the total costs applied on this link, as usual, including the extra costs for the Ticket Inspector. But you (the owner of the Ticket Inspector) still get the +1 Stress!

End of Round

In reverse Turn Order (or simultaneously if turn order makes no difference), each player can place his Ticket Inspector on one of his complete Links (whether upgraded or not). If you already have placed your Ticket Inspector, you can move it to another complete Link. The Ticket Inspector can also stay on the same complete link for several rounds.

Expansion #3: The Commerce Variant

In this expansion, Commerce is everything. Commerce is all you need, Commerce is your life! Did I mention that Commercial buildings are fundamental?

Setup

Each player takes two blue discs and places them next to his Stress Track.

Parcel cards: Players must draft the Parcel cards per the Advanced Game Rules!

Phase 2: Actions

There is a new action available – Convert to Commerce: This Action requires playing two C Destination Icons. It allows you to place one of your blue discs onto a pre-printed non-Commerce Building. This Building is now considered a pre-printed, yet upgraded Commerce Building, with all of its abilities (this also means no one owns it). You get 3 HP. You cannot convert a building which has already been converted earlier in the game. The Municipality of Small City grants you one Development card (choose one Development card like in the base game); however, you do not get a Commerce Building card.

Move a Passenger: When you move a Passenger to a Commerce Building (or to a Building which has been converted into a Commerce Building), instead of increasing your stress and taking $5 or a Development card, you get both $10 and a Development Card, and you do not increase your stress.
