Detonate is checked after the Move step, whether or not the Baddie moved. If it is below full HP then, it defeats itself. HP lost later in that turn is checked on its next turn. In an encounter that sets all Baddies to 2 HP, they start at full health and don't detonate. Sibron Style on a damaged Detonate Baddie makes it detonate.
