When is a leader removed because it has no adjacent temple?

When its last neighbouring temple is destroyed by a catastrophe tile, flipped into a monument or replaced by the wonder, the leader returns to its owner and nobody scores for it. A war loss does not do this on its own, since temples touching another leader are spared.
