The curse applies when the train stops next to a route. A parked train does nothing to routes you claim beside it, and one that merely passes a route does not curse it. Both the owner and any player who piggybacked on a hit route are cursed. The newly landed train affects only the route marked B, per the designer. Each dual-route side is affected by its own marker.
