How do courier cards and tokens work between games?

Courier cards are reshuffled into their deck after use, and a courier in play at game end is discarded with its tokens returned. Cards and tokens are active for one game at most. A courier counts as any worker type you choose for a brown card, but you cannot keep it. Tokens are small blue rectangles with the horse symbol.
