Do I take a penalty for my own unfinished section when I complete a section above it myself?

- The Red Cathedral rulebook · Rulebook · What happens if a Cathedral section is completed when there are unfinished sections below it?
Only partly. Your own completed sections never count against you, so if the only finished sections above your unfinished card are yours, you lose nothing. Sections completed by other players above it still cost you points, even when your own completion triggers the check.
