SUBJECT: The Office DVD Board Game Instructions
Per the Dunder Mifflin Human Resources Manual, please follow these standard operating procedures in regards to setting up The Office DVD Board Game (and training tool).
Object
Be the first player to make it to Michael's office with 20 Schrute Bucks.
Contents
The Office DVD Board Game DVD, 1 Game Board, 300 Schrute Bucks, 1 Die, 16 Character Game Pieces, 6 Mover Stands.
Set Up
Players must gather in front of a television, computer, or any video output device that has a DVD player. Place the game board on a flat surface and insert the DVD into the DVD player. Watch the How To Play and determine who goes first by answering the question:
Whose birthday is closest to the day you are playing this game?
The birthday girl or boy takes a turn and passes the DVD remote control clockwise to the next player.
Playing
- On the Game Board, players begin at Reception and work their way around the board counterclockwise until they get to Michael's office.
- Each player will take turns rolling the 6-sided die.
- Depending upon the die's result, the players will move their game piece 1-6 spaces forward on the Game Board.
- Middle Path – Players have the option to take the shortcut through Sales. Of course, you will have to stop at Dwight's Desk and contend with him.
- After landing on a space, use the DVD remote control to choose the icon on the board that matches the icon on the game menu on screen.
- Selecting an icon will play an event (Trivia-Question, Positive Reward, Negative Space etc...)
- Each question, depending on the game-play type or level, will earn players 1-3 Schrute Bucks upon successful completion.
- If the player has 20 Schrute Bucks when they arrive at Michael's office, they win.
- If the player arrives at Michael's office with less than 20 Schrute Bucks, they will be sent to a location in the office of Michael's choice.
- The player then will have to work their way back to Michael's office again.

SUBJECT: RE: The Office DVD Board Game Instructions
Question: Did you expect people to have a full grasp of this game by the instructions on your memo? After many hours of testing, I have come up with additional instructions in greater detail for an addendum I highly recommend you add. Please consider the following…
Icons and Events
(Star): Watch a clip and answer a trivia question based on it, or watch a clip, then when the video pauses, determine what the speaking character will say next. Correct answers are worth 1-3 Schrute Bucks, depending on the difficulty level of the question.
(Stapler): Simply answer the trivia question asked of you. These questions may be text-based or visual. Correct answers are worth 1-3 Schrute Bucks, depending on the difficulty level of the question.
(Pepper Spray): Earn 1-3 Schrute Bucks as you answer the trivia questions before the choices are eliminated.
(Beet): Earn 1-3 Schrute Bucks as you answer the trivia questions before all of the clues to the answers are revealed.
(Dice): Bet 1-3 Schrute Bucks based on your knowledge of the category displayed. Your opponents then will bet 1-3 Schrute Bucks based on how well they think you know the category. After answering a trivia question correctly, collect the amount of the bet from the Petty Cash (bank), while opponents pay their bets to the Petty Cash. If the trivia question is answered incorrectly, then pay the bet to the Petty Cash while your opponents collect. If any player has 0 Schrute Bucks at the time of the challenge, they can still participate, however, they will neither gain nor lose any Schrute Bucks.
(Glasses): All players must participate in this physical challenge. Follow the instructions on the screen; the first player to complete the task earns 3 Schrute Bucks. If the task is impossible to complete due to office supply issues, select NOT COMPLETED, then get an office supply requisition form from Pam.
(Best Boss Mug): Michael will give you instructions that may have either a positive or negative outcome on your game.
(Dwight's Face): Answer a really hard question that I, Dwight Schrute, wrote myself.
(Dwight Bobble Head): No matter how many spaces you roll, you MUST stop on this space when taking the game board shortcut and answer a question to proceed.
(Michael): If you land here and have 20 Schrute Bucks, you WIN the game. If you do not have 20 Schrute Bucks, you will be sent back to another department and will have to work your way back to this space over and over until you earn the 20 Schrute Bucks.
