How does a commission work: what do I pay and must I use it first?
The designer ruled the commissioned Work must be bought first, and the rulebook gives the initial-Fame price.
Discovering an Artist gives no Work, only a Signature token on your commission space as a promise. Your first Work bought from that Artist must use the commission and costs the Artist's initial Fame (the low starting value), not the current Fame. The token then moves to your Art value track, so you don't gain a second token. Later Works cost the current Fame and need a free Signature token.
