Chef Class Card

The Chef class card has a Novice face and a Master face. The Novice face is shown first below, followed by the abilities printed on the reverse of the card.

Chef – Novice

Chef — Novice

Upgrade: Start a battle with expended food in your ready slots.

When you would refresh a potion, you may refresh an expended food instead.

1 Connoisseur

Interrupt: When you would gain an item from lockpicking a cache, draw items until you draw a food. Gain that item instead, shuffling the deck afterwards.

1 Gourmand

Interrupt: When you would discard an unexpended food for any reason, you may expend it instead.

Chef – Master

Chef — Master

When you would refresh a potion, you may refresh 2 expended food instead.

Gaps: the rest of the Master face is not legible in the available photographs. Its ability lines appear only in fragments (partially covered by the Novice face), so no further Master-face text is transcribed here. See the gaps section.

Chef – Reverse: Class Abilities

Printed on the reverse of the class card, with their ability levels:

0 Gourmand

Interrupt: W[…] unexpended food […] instead.

Gap: the start of this line and the middle of the text are covered by a retailer sticker. Only the fragments "W…", "unexpended" and "…stead." are legible. The wording is not transcribed in full here; see the gaps section.

1 Connoisseur

Interrupt: When you would gain an item from lockpicking a cache, draw items until you draw a food. Gain that item instead, shuffling the deck afterwards.

2 Forager

Interrupt: During a town encounter, discard 1 item from the shop. Replace it with the top food from the [deck icon] Deck and then gain that new item, shuffling the deck afterwards.

2 Recipe Book

Each adventurer may discard a food to deal 1 true damage to an enemy adjacent to them. If the item is a [item-type icon], they deal 1 additional true damage to that enemy.

3 Brewer

Enduring: After resolving the effect of a food, either gain 1 bonus HP, heal for 1 HP, or remove up to 2 light fatigue from your cooldown track.

4 Master Provisioner

Resolve the effect of an unexpended food in your inventory without discarding it.

Side Quests

Myriad Realms of Flavor (SQ-CH-08)

A devout cultist of Sanguine is looking for someone to embark on a tour of gastrological indulgences.

Search the [deck icon] Deck for 5 food and place them under this card, shuffling the deck afterwards. Before initiating a town or peaceful encounter, draw 1 of these food at random. Each adventurer then rolls a D6. Whoever rolls the highest number resolves the effect of the food and then gains an overfatigue. If 2 or more adventurers tie for highest, they reroll to break the tie.

Chefs cannot use their Gourmand class ability to expend this food when resolving it. However, they may choose to not resolve the card and instead gain it as an expended item. They still gain the overfatigue.

Once there are no more items under this quest, it is completed. During the day's Reward Phase, each adventurer may either gain 5 tenacity, gain 1 bonus XP, or advance their Health star by 1. If all adventurers choose to forgo these rewards, gain keyword: Dark Blessing instead.

Items

Frosted Brains (LG-CH-001)

Type: food (Sweet)

Discard this item. Then, heal for 4 HP. For the rest of your turn, increase your Magicka by 4.

Gaps in This Transcription

This transcription is card text only. It is incomplete, and the following were not legible in the available photographs. None of the missing text has been reconstructed.

  • Master face of the class card: only the header and the refresh ability are legible ("When you would refresh a potion, you may refresh 2 expended food instead."). The remaining Master-face ability lines are partly hidden behind the Novice face and are not transcribed.
  • Reverse Gourmand (level 0): the body text is covered by a retailer sticker. Only fragments are legible. The Novice face prints Gourmand at level 1, while the reverse prints it at level 0. Both levels are transcribed as printed; the discrepancy is not resolved here.
  • Side quests SQ-CH-xx other than SQ-CH-08: the text of the other seven side quests in the pack is not present in the available photographs and is not transcribed.
  • Icons: the item-deck glyph used in Forager, Myriad Realms of Flavor and Recipe Book is shown as "[deck icon]" and "[item-type icon]" because the low-resolution scans did not allow these glyphs to be identified with confidence. Food and potion are identified from the consumable item tab and the potion glyph on the class card.
  • Small print: some words in the low-resolution scans may be misread. Check against the physical cards before relying on any single wording.
