Object

To be the player who scores the most points when collecting Disneyland attraction, character, and photo cards during the 12 hours that the park is open.

Equipment

  • Disneyland Game Board
  • Die
  • 48 Attraction and Character Cards
  • 18 Disneyland Photograph Cards
  • 2 Wishing Stars
  • 4 Train Movers
  • Disneyland Clock

Setup

  1. Point the hand of the clock at 9 o'clock, the time the park opens.
  2. Place the two Wishing Stars in the center of the board where everyone can reach them.
  3. Separate the 48 Attraction (1 point) and Character (2 point) Cards by color into seven piles; place each color pile on that color Disneyland Attraction on the game board.
  4. Mix up the 18 Disneyland Photograph cards and place them camera side up on the camera on the board. Note that the good photos are worth 5 points; the bad ones are worth Zero.
  5. Each player selects a train mover and places it on the nearest DRAW space. (There is no Start or Finish to the track.)
  6. The youngest player goes first. Play moves clockwise, to the left, around the table.

Gameplay

On your turn, you:

  • Roll the die;
  • Move your train that number of spaces on the track;
  • Do what's indicated on the space you land on.
  • If the number you rolled would put you on a space already occupied by another mover, keep on moving to the next empty space.
  • Play continues until the Clock's arm has been moved 12 times, completely around the Clock back to 9, and the park closes.

The Board Spaces

Draw: Draw a card from the pile next to the space and place it face up in front of you, with the point value showing. Attraction cards are worth 1 point; Character cards are worth 2 points.

Camera: Draw a Camera Card, look at it, and place it face down in front of you. Good photos are worth 5 points; bad photos are worth Zero.

Wishing Star: Decide which player you want to take a card from; that player hides one star in each hand and you say, "I wish I had one of your Photo Cards," or "I wish I had one of your Attraction Cards," and pick either the right or left hand. If you pick the Frowning Star, your wish does not come true and your turn ends. But if you pick the Smiling Star, you get your wish and may take any one card, an Attraction, Character or Photo Card, from the other player and add it to your own. (Remember to keep all your Photo Cards face down at all times.)

Clock: Move the clock hand ahead one hour.

The Stop the Clock Rule

When, and only when, the clock has reached 8 o'clock, and the park will only be open one more hour, any player may "stop the clock" in the following way: The next time anyone lands on a Clock space — when he or she would ordinarily move the clock ahead to 9 and the park would close — any player may call out, "I want the park to stay open!" The player who landed on the Clock space — or another player — hides a Wishing Star in each hand, and the player who wants the park to stay open picks a hand. If you pick the Smiling Star, the clock stays at 8, and the game continues, giving players another hour to collect points. But if you pick the Frowning Star, you move the clock ahead to 9, and the game ends.

Winning the Game

When the Clock reaches 9 o'clock and the park closes, all players count up the points on their Attraction, Character and Photo Cards. The player with the highest number of points wins the game. If two players have the same number of points, the two of them count their cards; the one with the most, wins.
