Mission 01 – Captain for the Day

Captain's log of the Kench, Captain Abdi Muse, Day 21.

I guess I'm the captain now. At least for today, because Meg seems a bit groggy from all the chaos of the last couple days. I'm going to make the most of this opportunity though; I want to try and extract the last secrets from the wreck. We need to go to the farthest corners of the wreck, which will require the utmost caution. One step in the wrong place and the whole thing could collapse!

The captain is whoever has the 1 submarine card. If the captain was dealt all the submarine cards, then shuffle and re-deal the cards.

Your captain must win exactly 2 tricks. These tricks may not contain a 7, 8, or 9 of any color. If you were successful, try again with exactly 3 tricks.

Mission card note (printed beside the illustration): "Win exactly 2 (3) tricks but it can't contain" a 7, 8 or 9 of any color. The 1 submarine card is shown as the captain marker.

Mission 02 – Task Cards

Captain's log of the Kench, Captain Abdi Muse, Day 21.

I believe we are very close to an important find! It looks like there may be an item just ahead of us … if we can just push a little further, I think we can get it. However, we really need to stay alert. Planks are beginning to shake loose!

The overall difficulty level of this task depends on the number of crew members. Distribute the tasks normally, including the passing option. However, the task cards should remain face down; their faces do not matter in this mission.

The sum of the difficulty levels each player has determines the number of tricks they must win. For example, if you have chosen 2 cards with difficulty levels 2 and 4 you must win exactly 6 tricks.

The overall difficulty printed on the mission card by player count (read from the card's icons; the card prints no words for these values):

  • 3 players: difficulty 13
  • 4 players: difficulty 10
  • 5 players: difficulty 8

Mission card note: "Task cards remain face down. The sum of the difficulty levels on the task cards each player has selected = the number of tricks they must win."
