  • 36 character cards (6 of each color)
  • 6 sword cards
  • 6 shield cards
  • 6 hill cards
  • 6 role cards
  • 3 reminder cards
  • 30 victory points tokens (par 1)
  • 20 victory points tokens (par 3)

Preparation

Each player is given a hand of 9 cards of one color (6 characters, a sword, a shield and a hill).

If there are 6 players all hill cards should be removed from every hand.

If there are 5 players cards containing number 6 should be removed from every hand along with role cards containing number 6.

If there are 4 players cards containing numbers 5 and 6 should be removed from every hand along with role cards containing number 5 and 6.

Put the reminder card in the center of the table. Randomly choose the first player and give him the first player token to keep things in order.

Game flow

Each round consists of several turns depending on the number of players. In a four-player game there will be 4 turns, 5 turns in a five-player game and 6 turns in a six-player game. At the end of the last turn players count victory points and start a new round.

The first player shuffles the role card deck and gives each player a card. The role card should not be shown to other players. Every role card has a character on it that you will play during this round. Remove this character card from your hand and put it on the table face down.

Your task is to figure out two characters - the one you are hunting for and the one that is hunting for you. The reminder card will always remind you whom to attack and whom to protect yourself from. During each round every player must put one card from his hand face down. After that they open their cards simultaneously. The card should be put in front of the player so that the others can always see the card played in this round. This card cannot be played again in the current round.

Example: Homer has put the Cookie, Bart has put the Strontium, Lisa has put the 37, Marge has put the Strontium. Now we know for sure that Homer is not the Cookie, Bart and Marge are not the Strontium and Lisa is not the 37.

Every new turn will give you more information and it will be easier to figure out other players' roles. Instead of putting another character card on the table you can put a shield, a sword or a hill. If the sword is on the table amongst the opened cards the player with the sword chooses the player he will attack. For that he moves the sword to the player that he supposedly hunts for.

Attention! A player cannot use his sword card against the player who has already used the shield card against him.

Example: Bart has played the sword card. He plays for the Cookie so he hunts for the Blue. He believes that Lisa plays for the Blue because Lisa has already played the 37 and the Strontium, therefore she is none of those and not the Cookie because Bart is the Cookie himself. Thus Bart decides to attack Lisa. For that he puts the sword card in front of Lisa.

The player who put the shield card open on the table decides whom he will protect himself from. Therefore he puts the shield card in front of the player he thinks is hunting for him.

Attention! A player cannot use his shield card against the player who has already used the sword card against him.

Example: Bart has already attacked Lisa which means she cannot use the shield card against him. Homer decided to protect himself from Marge by putting the shield card. Marge cannot attack him during this round.

Attention! Shield and sword cards are played clockwise starting from the first player.

Example: During the third turn Bart has played the sword card, Homer has played the shield card, Marge has played the sword card and Lisa has played the hill card. Bart is the first player in this game, Homer is the second, Marge is the third and Lisa is the fourth. This means that Bart plays the sword card first and attacks Lisa. Then Homer plays the shield card against Marge. Marge cannot attack Homer so she decides to attack Bart.

Also every player can choose to use the hill card instead of the character, the sword or the shield one. The mere function of this card is giving no information to other players. Why wouldn't you do it all the time? Because one saved hill card brings an extra victory point at the end of the round.

The round is finished when four turns end. After that all players open their cards and count victory points. Every player can get from 0 to 5 points in every round. Starting from the first player, check if everyone attacked and defended correctly. Pass the first player token to another player clockwise. As soon as the player gets the first player token for the second time the game is over.

Calculating the score

Victory points are given for:

  • 3 VP - every player who successfully attacked the one he hunted for
  • 2 VP - every player who successfully protected himself from the player hunting for him
  • 1 VP - every player who has the hill card not played by the end of the game

Give all the players victory tokens accordingly.

After scores are calculated the next round begins. The first player token is passed to the next player clockwise.

End of game

The game ends when every player has been the first player, i. e. 4 players play 4 rounds, 5 players play 5 rounds, 6 players play 6 rounds. The player who gained the most victory points by the end of the game becomes the winner.
