Overview

Players: 1-100+. Game Time: 20-30 minutes. Items needed: 2 six-sided dice.

The game is played over 16 rounds, with players playing simultaneously, trying to earn the most points by eating pieces in the city and also growing as large as blob-ly possible. All players will use the same dice pool for each roll, using the dice however each player determines.

Gameplay

Each Round you will roll 2 dice and then use one of those dice to draw a shape in the city and then use the other die to grow the shape that you used in the city. You eat/devour a city shape when you completely cover each square of its shape.

Roll 2 dice

Roll the 2 dice. Write the numbers in the top left on the current round's track. This is just used as a helpful reference. Of the two dice rolled, one will be used to determine which blob shape eats the city and the other die will be used to grow the blob shape used to eat the city.

Use one die to Blob the city

Draw the exact polyomino shape that corresponds to the die number in your city.

Drawing your shape in city

Your Blob shape can never be mirrored, turned, or flipped. You must place all parts of the blob shape when drawing in the city. No parts of the blob shape can overlap a previously placed blob and all parts of blob cannot go outside the border. Your very first blob piece may be placed anywhere, but every following blob piece must be connected to your blob orthogonally (up, down, left, right).

Check to see if you devoured any City piece(s)

Once a city piece is completely filled (all squares of the shape are covered) then you score that piece! Cross off the piece in a left-hand scoring area that corresponds to the piece you devoured.

Use other die to grow Blob

Your blob is growing! Using the number on this die, grow that shape out of the shape you used for the other die. To grow the blob, at least one square of the shape needs to be connected orthogonally. All parts of the growth must be used. You may not flip, mirror, or rotate the grow shape that is being attached to the blob.

(Note: the growth shape for each die face, 1 to 6, and the city polyomino shapes are shown only as pictures on the rules sheet and are not transcribed here.)

What if I grow into another die area?

Good question, Blob! You can connect to other blob areas! Yes! Really! Then, in future rolls, when choosing which blob shape to use, when you choose any die area that the blob piece is connected to, you place that entire blob shape. The blob shapes can get pretty large and wild (that is why you cannot mirror/flip/rotate your shapes).

Your blob only grows after being placed in the city. You may not grow first then place in the city.

Repeat these steps each round (rolling 2 dice and placing a blob shape then growing your blob) until 16 rounds have been completed.

Bonus Blob Square

When you place a shape over a bonus blob, you gain a bonus free square! Place a 1x1 square on any square that is connected to your city blob.

End of Game

After you have completed the 16th roll/round, total your points earned from each city piece devoured. Then count each square in your largest blob die area, earning one point for each square in it. The player with the most points is the winner!
