When are Temporary events discarded, and do Skill cards used for an effect get discarded?

A Temporary event is discarded after its action and the success or failure consequence are resolved (unless it says otherwise). A Permanent event stays in play. Skill cards you use stay in hand unless their text says to discard or block them.
