Resolving the flip to a Terrain card removes the other Exploration cards as you place the new Adventure card, then new Exploration cards go around it, and you can only go one direction since the other exits close. The board resets fully only if the new Adventure card isn't available; an earlier reading that every resolution resets it was disputed.
