Light Monk and Shadow Monk

Light Monk: As a Light Monk, your hero is a trained master who gathers the energy of Qi to heal wounds, defend others and create spiritual barriers. Although a Light Monk can deal tremendous damage, its soul is more inclined to help others than to destroy them.

Shadow Monk: As a Shadow Monk, your hero is a master of unarmed combat who bends the energy of Qi to harm enemies, consume their souls and set the battlefield ablaze. Although a Shadow Monk is able to heal others, its soul is more inclined to burn and destroy others.

Note: It is not recommended to play an adventure with two heroes of the same class.

Rules

Genryu and Shakiko, the two characters from this expansion for Sword & Sorcery, can each be played with either hero class. Matching figures, cards, markers and hero sheets are included for this purpose.

All cards of this expansion (marked with the expansion symbol) can be added to the corresponding card decks of the base game.

If you play this expansion with the base game Sword & Sorcery: Immortal Souls, ignore the Armor values printed on the hero sheets.

Legendary Powers

Legendary Powers are especially powerful powers that are available to heroes from Soulrank VII onward (marked with the legendary symbol). Each Legendary Power may be used only 1 time per Quest. Once it has been used, leave the card face up and turn it upside down. A Legendary Power is never turned back over and cannot be made ready again.

Drain

When attacking with the Drain property, the attacker is healed by as many Health Points as the wounds it inflicted on the target, up to the value shown. The attacker cannot be healed beyond its maximum Health Points.

Translation note: the German term "Entziehen" is rendered as "Drain", the base game's keyword for this effect (see Ancient Chronicles, section 11.4).

Nemesis

This expansion also contains two new, terrible foes ... the dark side of Genryu and Shakiko! All figures and game components for them (enemy scrolls, enemy cards, markers) are included. The rules for Nemeses can be found on the product page:

Note: the rules for the Nemeses are not part of this transcription. The German Nemeses sheet (Erzfeinde) is a separate product document and is not included.
