Hero Options

Each of the five heroes in this expansion can be played with either of two hero classes:

  • Johann: Avenger / Inquisitor
  • Brienna: Gladiator / Stoneling
  • Voldfein: Scout / Hunter
  • Marian: Alchemist / Thief
  • Maya: Illusionist / Unbridled Mage

For each hero, the matching figures (standard figure and ghost soul form figure), cards, markers and hero sheets are included. The heroes appear on certain cards and on the hero sheets in different colors, which represent their respective hero class.

Note: It is not recommended to play two heroes of the same class together in one adventure.

Rules

All cards of this expansion (they are marked with the expansion symbol shown on the printed sheet) may be used with any base game of Sword & Sorcery.

If you play this expansion with the base game Sword & Sorcery – Immortal Souls, ignore the armor values printed on the hero sheets.

Legendary Abilities

Legendary abilities are particularly powerful abilities that are available to heroes from Soulrank VII onward.

Each legendary ability may be used only once per Quest. Once it has been used, leave the card face up and turn it upside down. A legendary ability is never turned back over and cannot be readied again.

Traits

This Special Hero Pack includes a bonus expansion: Traits. With the Trait cards, each hero receives advantages and disadvantages matched to him. Trait cards may be used in both base games (Immortal Souls and Ancient Chronicles).

There is one Trait card for every hero in the Sword & Sorcery series (from a base game or hero pack), plus an additional card for heroes who have no alternative version. For those heroes, you may choose which of the two cards to use.

If you want to play with the Trait cards, we recommend that all participating heroes receive their Trait card.

Translation note: the German sheet gives no English name for these cards. "Merkmal" is rendered here as "Trait" as the translator's choice. The hero class names above are likewise the translator's English renderings of the German names, since the sheet gives no English versions.
