Hero Options

Ryld can be played either as a Bard or as a Blademaster.

Bard (Path of Chaos)

As a Bard, Ryld follows the path of Chaos. Already as a youth he set out into the world and made his living as a travelling singer. From a warlock he met on the road he learned a few magic tricks, but he never had the makings of a true mage. His prestige as an adventurer is owed more to his quick sword arm and his golden voice, with which he inspires his companions.

Blademaster (Path of Lawfulness)

As a Blademaster, Ryld follows the path of lawfulness. From childhood he trained in every discipline of swordsmanship. He eventually resolved to travel the land as a wandering blademaster, seeking out and training talented students. In combat he takes every step with tactical composure, and whoever heeds his teachings will always gain the upper hand, whether in a duel or in other situations in life.

Rule Additions

All cards of this expansion show the expansion symbol (shown on the printed sheet as an icon). They may be added to the corresponding card decks from the base game.

The Emporium cards included in this expansion may be used in any Sword & Sorcery Quest.

Legendary Abilities

Legendary abilities are particularly powerful abilities that are available to heroes from Soulrank VII onward. They can be selected like other ability cards.

Each legendary ability may be used only once per Quest.

Conditions

This new condition follows the normal rules, with these additions:

Bleeding

The Bleeding marker has a front side and a back side.

  • Effect on heroes: At the start of each of the hero's activities, the hero suffers 1 wound (this does not apply to free activities).
  • Effect on enemies: At the start of each of the enemy's activations, the enemy suffers 1 wound.
  • The marker is flipped during the next Time Phase and removed during the Time Phase after that.
  • The condition therefore lasts two rounds, unless it is removed earlier.
