Distribution of Tiles

The tiles are numbered 1 through 30: one copy each of 1-10 and 20-30, two copies each of 11-19, and one wild (star) tile.

Setting Up

  1. Give a game sheet to each player.
  2. Place all tiles in the bag and jiggle them around.
  3. Choose a player who will be in charge of drawing the tiles.
  4. The game is played in 20 turns.

Object of the Game

To score the most points by creating the longest series.

What Is a Series of Numbers?

  • A chain of at least two numbers in ascending order. The numbers do not have to be consecutive. Example: 4, 6, 17, 23, 25, 29 is a series of six numbers.
  • A single number series does not earn points.
  • Identical numbers may be placed next to each other. Example: 7, 10, 11, 11, 15 is a series of five numbers.
  • The wild tile may replace any number but only counts in one series. Example: 5, 12, X, 14, 17, 21, 23, 27 is a series of eight numbers.

Playing the Game

  1. The designated player draws a random tile from the bag, announces what is on the tile (number or wild) and places it face up on the table.
  2. All players write this number in any empty train car on their game sheets. Use your best judgment when deciding where the number should go to create the longest series in ascending order. Numbers ascend from the left side of the sheet (after the locomotive) to the right side. Example: If the number 3 is drawn, you want to place it in one of the first squares.
  3. Once everyone has written it down, a new turn starts. Draw the next number.

Important: If the drawn number does not fit in your existing series, start a new series. A new series starts with a low number following a higher number. Example: 2, 9, 13, 16, 19, 8, 10, 15... The new series starts with 8.

Winning the Game

  • The game ends after the 20th tile has been drawn and each player's train is full.
  • Find out your total score by following the steps below.
  • The player with the highest total wins the game.
  1. Identify each series composed of at least two numbers in ascending order on your sheet. Draw lines to separate your series.
  2. Look for each series' point value on the scoring table. Each series is worth a number of points depending on its length. Example: A series of 3 numbers is worth 3 points.
  3. Write the score for each of your series.
  4. Add up all your points to get your total score.
