Preparation

Players sit opposite each other. Place the playing board in the centre of the table with a straight side of the board facing each player. Separate the links and place one in each slot on the board.

Decide who is going to play red. Place the red "man" in the centre space of the side of the board facing him and the blue "man" in the centre space on the opposite side (see diagram).

The game is now ready to begin.

Set Up at Start of Game

Diagrams on the sheet show the red man in the centre space of the top edge and the blue man in the centre space of the bottom edge of the hexagonal board, with spaces lettered A to Q.

…ith a link in each slot red can move to A B D E L or O but not H or J as he would be directly in a line with blue.

How to Play

Each player moves his man in turn. The player with the red "man" starts.

At his turn a player moves his man from one space to another any number of spaces in a straight line in any direction joined by links. BUT, must not finish on a space which is directly in a straight 'unbroken' line (from which no links have been removed) between his and the other player's man (see diagram).

Immediately after each move, the FIRST link passed over is removed from the board.

Once a line has been broken (from which one or more links have been removed) both men can be on the same straight line as long as the break in the line is between the two men.

As it is only permissible to move between spaces connected by links the positions to which the men can move will get less and less.

When a player succeeds in manoeuvring his opponent into a position whereby he cannot move he is the winner.

NOTE: The hole in the centre is necessary in the production of the board and has no significance in playing the game.
