When must Mak Eshka'rey decide to use Disengage?

Right after the hostile figure enters a space within range; once the Imperial player starts another action or declares an attack the window has passed. Each entry into a space within range is a separate chance, but he can't wait to see what the enemy does, and Disengage can interrupt before a Pounce attack lands.
