Components and Integration

This pack provides the Royal Guard Champion plastic figure that can be used to replace his villain token when playing a mission. The other components in this expansion are incorporated as follows:

  • Add the Royal Guard Champion Deployment card to the supply of Deployment cards.
  • The Imperial player can choose the "Crimson Empire" Agenda set when building his Agenda deck at the start of a campaign.
  • Shuffle the Skirmish Mission cards into the Skirmish Mission deck. These cards use the "Kuat Space Station" map (see below).
  • Add the Command cards to the pool of cards that a player can use to build his Command deck.

Component Breakdown

  • 1 plastic figure (Royal Guard Champion)
  • 1 Deployment card (Royal Guard Champion)
  • 7 Command cards (Parting Blow x2, Counter Attack, Cripple, Bodyguard x2, Flurry of Blades)
  • 3 Agenda cards (Crimson Empire)
  • 2 Skirmish Mission cards (Kuat Space Station)

Map key: Data Core (marked on the map with [icon] 24A); Relay Station (marked on the map with a [icon] and an Imperial [icon]).

Skirmish Mission A: Data Heist

You arrive at a small space station in the Kuat Drive Yards. You quickly board the station and easily dispatch a security team. You don't find much resistance because this is a simple Shipping and Receiving facility, not as high of a security priority as Research and Development. However, your spies recently discovered that if you were to hijack this simple shipping data, you could actually slice in and reroute their shipping orders, resulting in major starship equipment delivered directly to you at no cost.

As you move ahead, you hear the sound of another ship boarding; it would seem your team wasn't the only one to discover this opportunity.

Skirmish Mission B: Incoming Transmission

Your slicers have discovered a small space station whose comm systems receive major communications from the Kuat Drive Yards executives. These communications detail information on upcoming models, prototypes, and advanced weaponry. This knowledge would be very valuable, either to a military operation or on the black market. Your orders are to infiltrate the station and intercept an expected upcoming transmission.

As you approach the space station, an enemy shuttle appears in your scopes. You begin to fire upon each other, but you both prove evasive enough that you fail to land many hits. You board the station and prepare to fight your enemies in more direct combat.

Side Mission: Infection

The Infection side mission map is printed on the sheet as an image. The layout is not transcribed; the tile list is below.

Map tiles: [icon] 01B, 18B (2), 21A, 23A, 24A, 27A, 32A, 36A (3), 38A

Deployment and Setup

  • Initial Groups: Imperial Officer, Stormtrooper.
  • Reserved Groups: Royal Guard Champion, Royal Guard.
  • Open Groups: 3.
  • Special Setup: Increase [threat icon] by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment.

Event Summary

  • Round 2: Nemesis
  • Round 6: End of Mission
  • First door opens: Security Breach
  • Second door opens: Guarded
  • All heroes wounded or virus uploaded: End of Mission

Mission Briefing

Your shuttle lands right outside the small Imperial data center. Though Alliance Intelligence said that you should be able to avoid patrols if you arrived at the proper time, you soon encounter evidence to the contrary.

"Freeze! You are trespassing on classified Imperial property and will be taken into custody."

You immediately recognize the harsh sound of a voice processed through a stormtrooper helmet and turn to see a squad with their blasters ready.

  • Doors are locked. A figure can attack a door (Health: 5, Defense: 1 [defense icon]) or interact with a door (2 [icon]) to open it.
  • A hero can interact with the terminal (3 [icon] or [icon]) to upload the virus.
  • The mission ends when the virus is uploaded ([icon]), at the end of Round 6, or when all heroes are wounded.

Nemesis

At the end of Round 2:

You hear a deep, cruel voice behind you: "You foolish rebels. I am glad you took our bait; I relish the opportunity for a good fight."

  • Deploy the reserved Royal Guard Champion to the yellow point.
  • Apply additional health to the Royal Guard Champion equal to the threat level.

Security Breach

When the first door opens:

  • The blue deployment point is now active.
  • Increase [threat icon] by the threat level and resolve an optional deployment.

Guarded

When the second door opens:

  • Deploy the reserved Royal Guard group to the red point.
  • The red deployment point is now active.

End of Mission

When the virus is uploaded:

As the virus infects the Imperial data stream, the readout on the monitors transforms almost immediately from comprehensible language to utter gibberish. Then, the power in the center flickers and dies, allowing you a covert escape.

  • Heroes receive 100 credits per hero.

At the end of Round 6 or when all heroes are wounded:

Cornered and out of options, you fight with desperation and just barely manage to escape.

  • The Imperial player receives the Royal Guard Champion as a villain.

Additional Rewards

  • Each player receives 1 XP.
  • Heroes receive 100 credits per hero.
  • The Imperial player receives 1 influence.
