Components

  • 2 Plastic Figures (Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus)
  • 5 Deployment Cards (Ezra Bridger x2, Kanan Jarrus x2, Doubt)
  • 5 Command Cards (Dying Lunge, Hour of Need, Second Chance, Protect the Old Ways, Learn by Example)
  • 1 Side Mission Card (Executive Overreach)
  • 2 Skirmish Mission Cards (Lothal Battlefront)
  • 2 Epilogue Cards (for use with Tyrants of Lothal)

The sheet's integration instructions follow. The sheet prints them without a heading.

  • Add the Deployment and Command cards to their supplies.
  • If you own the Tyrants of Lothal expansion, add the Side Mission card to the pool of green Side Mission cards. The heroes can choose this card when building the Side Mission deck at the start of a campaign.
  • If you own the Tyrants of Lothal expansion, shuffle the Skirmish Mission cards into the Skirmish Mission deck. These cards use the "Lothal Battlefront" map (see below).

Deployment Card Restrictions

Some Deployment cards can be used in only one style of play in Imperial Assault. A Deployment card marked with a Campaign Deployment Icon can be used only in a campaign, while a Deployment card marked with a Skirmish Deployment Icon can be used only in a skirmish.

Neutral Deployment Cards

Deployment cards with a Neutral Icon and card back do not belong to an affiliation. When creating an army for a skirmish, a player may choose to include Neutral Deployment cards as if they belonged to their affiliation. Neutral Deployment cards cannot be used in a campaign.

Spectre Allies

During the Tyrants of Lothal campaign, the Rebel players will be prompted to bring a Spectre ally. Spectre allies are those allies with "Spectre" or "Chopper" as part of its sub-name.

During campaign setup, when the hero players are choosing green Side Missions, they may choose more than one mission that rewards "Any 1 Spectre ally."

Skirmish Mission: Lothal Battlefront

This map requires the Tyrants of Lothal expansion.

The Lothal Battlefront skirmish map is shown on the sheet with the following key:

  • A: Power Cell
  • B: Critical Position

The sheet's key also shows an unlabelled silver token icon. The skirmish mission rules for this map are printed on the Skirmish Mission cards in the pack, not on the rules sheet.

Side Mission: Executive Overreach

This map requires the Tyrants of Lothal expansion.

Map

The map has three named sections: Cantina (map tile 21B), Back Room (map tile 28B), and Market (map tile 03B).

Deployment and Setup

  • Initial Groups: Death Trooper, Imperial Officer (2), Probe Droid.
  • Reserved Groups: Death Trooper, Imperial Officer, Stormtrooper.
  • Open Groups: 4.
  • Special Setup: Increase threat by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment. Heroes must bring a Spectre ally to this mission. If the heroes have not earned a Spectre ally, they earn one Spectre ally of their choice for this mission only.

Event Summary

  • Round 2: Unwelcome Visitors
  • Round 6: End of Mission
  • Door to Market opens: Let's Finish This
  • Xarok defeated or all heroes wounded: End of Mission

Mission Briefing

You advance on the cantina where the tyrannical Colonel Xarok regularly makes his headquarters and resolve to make an example of this vicious man.

  • Apply additional Health to regular Imperial Officers equal to the threat level. Imperial Officers cannot be redeployed when defeated.
  • Doors are locked. When both Imperial Officers are defeated, the door to the Market unlocks.
  • The mission ends at the end of Round 6 or when all heroes are wounded. The mission will progress when the door to the Market opens ([objective icon]).

Unwelcome Visitors

At the end of Round 2:

  • Deploy the reserved Stormtrooper group. Each figure in this group gains 1 [icon].

Let's Finish This

When the door to the Market opens:

You burst through the door and come face-to-face with Xarok's guards. The tyrant shouts over a comm system, unaware of his impending downfall.

Mission Rules

The sheet prints the following mission rules in its central column, without a heading.

  • Deploy the reserved Imperial Officer to the red point. Deploy the reserved Death Trooper to the yellow point.
  • Apply additional Health to the Death Trooper equal to the threat level.
  • The blue deployment points are now active. The green deployment points are now inactive.
  • Increase threat by the threat level and resolve an optional deployment.
  • Neutral mission tokens represent bystanders. A hero can spend 1 movement point while on or adjacent to a bystander to gain its support ([eye icon]), gaining 1 [icon] if successful. Limit once per bystander.
  • When the Death Trooper is not on the Cantina, the door to the back room unlocks.
  • The Imperial Officer is Xarok. When Xarok activates, he receives only one action and can only use that action to perform an "Executive Order." Xarok may choose any friendly figure on the map when he uses "Executive Order."
  • A Rebel figure can interact with Xarok ([icon] or [eye icon]) to cause Xarok to suffer 1 damage for each success. During this test, that Rebel figure may suffer 1 [strain icon] to reroll any number of dice. Xarok cannot recover damage and cannot suffer damage through any means other than this interaction.
  • The mission ends when Xarok is defeated ([objective icon]).

End of Mission

When Xarok is defeated:

You subdue Xarok with several swift punches and bind him to the nearby desk. Despite his pleas, you leave him at the citizens' mercy.

  • If playing as a side mission, heroes receive 1 Spectre ally of their choice as an ally.
  • If playing an expanded mini campaign with Tyrants of Lothal, resolve the "Comeuppance" Epilogue card.

At the end of Round 6 or when all heroes are wounded:

Xarok and his guards overwhelm you, and you are forced to retreat. As you fly away, you see Xarok's men beating and imprisoning locals as surrogate punishment for your crimes.

  • The Imperial player gains 2 influence.
  • If playing an expanded mini campaign with Tyrants of Lothal, resolve the "Sparks" Epilogue card.

Additional Rewards

  • Each player receives 1 XP. Heroes receive 100 credits per hero. The Imperial player receives 1 influence.

Transcription Notes

  • A horizontal fold crease crosses three passages on the sheet: the "During campaign setup" paragraph under Spectre Allies, the "active. The green deployment points are" line in the Mission Rules, and the flavour text of the When Xarok is defeated box. The text is legible through the crease and is transcribed as printed.
  • Red type on the sheet (Death Trooper and Imperial Officer in the Deployment and Setup and Mission Rules text) is shown as plain text.
  • Icons whose names the sheet does not print are shown in brackets: the objective icon, the eye icon, the strain icon, the icon in the Xarok interaction (the first of the two options), and the icon gained by Stormtroopers and by bystander support. The glyph read as "damage" in the Xarok interaction is written as damage.
  • The footers of both sides list card and map-tile reference codes. These are index references, not rules text, and are not transcribed.
  • The card scans of the five Command cards, the Deployment cards, and the Side Mission card are not transcribed here. This rulebook covers the rules sheet only.
