Spielidee
Darth Vader has summoned you – the most dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy – and tasked you with hunting down the enemies of the Galactic Empire. Will you accept the challenge? Who among you will make Darth Vader the best offer and be allowed to open the hunt? But beware: whoever overestimates their luck and fails makes it all the easier for their rivals to track down the target.
Inhalt
- 15 Contract cards (Auftragskarten): They show various combinations of colour symbols that you must fulfil with the dice.
- 15 Reinforcement chips (Verstärkungschips): Used to pay for the grey reinforcement dice.
- 6 Offer markers (Angebotsmarker): Numbered 1 to 6. They show how many more dice rolls you can fulfil the contract with.
- 2 grey reinforcement dice (graue Verstärkungswürfel): These increase your chances, but must always be paid for with reinforcement chips first.
- Darth Vader (with stand): Darth Vader is your employer and always counts as the starting player.
- Holding area (Ablage) for a maximum of 3 reinforcement chips.
- 5 black dice: These are always available to you.
- 5 Bounty Hunter cards.
- 7 dice in total (5 black, 2 grey).
Spielvorbereitung
- The 5 Bounty Hunter cards are shuffled face down. One is dealt at random to each player and placed face up. If there are fewer than five players, the undealt Bounty Hunter cards go back into the box.
- Each player receives 1 reinforcement chip and places it on one of the three spaces of their Bounty Hunter card.
- The remaining reinforcement chips are placed in the middle of the table as a supply.
- The 15 contract cards are shuffled and placed face up in the middle of the table as the contract deck (Auftragsstapel).
- The 6 offer markers are laid out face up next to each other.
- All 7 dice are placed ready in the middle of the table.
- The youngest player becomes the starting player and places the Darth Vader figure in front of them.
Spielverlauf
The game is played over several rounds until all contract cards have been fulfilled by the players. Each round consists of three phases, explained below:
- TARGET SCAN (ZIEL-SCAN)
- OFFER ROUND (ANGEBOTSRUNDE)
- HUNT PHASE (JAGDPHASE)
1. Ziel-Scan (Target Scan)
The target scan determines how difficult the current contract (the top contract card) is to fulfil. To perform the target scan, the starting player rolls the 5 black dice. Depending on how many symbols on the dice already match the contract card, it becomes easier or harder for the Bounty Hunters to fulfil the contract.
Caution: If the target scan already shows all of the colour symbols of the top card of the contract deck, the target scan must be repeated, otherwise the hunt would be too easy!
2. Angebotsrunde (Offer Round)
Now the Bounty Hunters must estimate how quickly they can track down the target and fulfil the contract. Beginning with the starting player, each player in clockwise order takes one offer marker from the middle and places it next to their Bounty Hunter card.
The number on the offer marker indicates how many further dice rolls the player believes they need to fulfil the top contract from the contract deck. The player who has the lowest offer marker in front of them at the end of the offer round may begin the hunt phase.
3. Jagdphase (Hunt Phase)
Now the aim is to roll the symbols of the top contract card from the contract deck with the dice. The player with the lowest number on their offer marker rolls first. Before their first roll, they may place any number of dice from the target scan next to the contract card.
They then may roll as often as the number on their offer marker indicates, and each time decide anew how many dice they want to re-roll and how many they leave as they are. Dice already placed next to the contract card may also be re-rolled. The contract is fulfilled when all symbols of the contract card are visible on the dice. Unused symbols on the dice do not matter.
Grey reinforcement dice (Graue Verstärkungswürfel): The player whose turn it is may buy additional reinforcement dice at any point. These are then rolled along with the others. For each reinforcement die, they pay one reinforcement chip into the supply.
White symbols on contract cards (Weiße Symbole auf den Auftragskarten): The white symbols each stand for any other colour symbol. This must differ from the colour symbol specified on the contract card.
The contract is fulfilled (Der Auftrag wird erfüllt): A contract is fulfilled when the rolled symbols match the symbols on the contract card. The player concerned receives the contract card, places it face up in front of them, and so forms an open pile of the contract cards they have fulfilled. All offer markers and any grey reinforcement dice used are returned to the middle of the table. The player to the left of the player who fulfilled the contract becomes the new starting player and takes Darth Vader in front of them. They begin the next round with a new target scan.
The rulebook illustrates this with two sample dice results in which the contract is fulfilled.
The contract is not fulfilled (Der Auftrag wird nicht erfüllt): A contract is not fulfilled when the player, with their rolls, could not roll the symbols of the contract card. The player places their offer marker back in the middle of the table. Each other player receives 1 reinforcement chip from the supply and places it on a free space on their Bounty Hunter card. However, a player may never have more than 3 reinforcement chips at the same time.
The player who now has the lowest offer marker in front of them comes up next. They may roll as often as their offer marker specifies, and in doing so may use the result of their predecessor. If they wish to take over one or two reinforcement symbols already rolled by their predecessor and leave them lying (or roll them again), they pay for these as described (see "Grey reinforcement dice").
The rulebook illustrates this with two sample dice results in which the contract is not fulfilled.
No Bounty Hunter fulfils the contract (Kein Bounty Hunter erfüllt den Auftrag): If all players have rolled in turn according to their offer markers and none could fulfil the contract, there is a new offer round for the same contract card. The left-hand neighbour of the player who last rolled begins. They take Darth Vader in front of them. The previous result counts as the target scan, so there is no new target scan.
Beispiel einer Spielrunde (Example of a Round)
The following example shows a round for the contract card shown.
1. Ziel-Scan: Player A is the starting player and rolls the target scan. This is invalid, because all symbols of the card are contained in it (the rulebook shows the five black dice).
Player A repeats the target scan. It is valid (the rulebook shows the five black dice).
2. Angebotsrunde: The players each take one offer marker. Player A begins and takes the 4, Player B the 1, and Player C the 3.
3. Jagdphase: Player B begins, because they have the lowest offer marker, "1", in front of them. They leave the dice with the red and blue symbols from the target scan lying. With one reinforcement chip, they buy a grey reinforcement die. They roll this die once together with the three black dice showing the unneeded symbols (yellow, green, green).
Bad luck! They have not fulfilled the contract, are eliminated for this round, and return their offer marker to the middle.
Players A and C each receive 1 reinforcement chip from the supply. Player C places it on a free space on their Bounty Hunter card. Player A already has 3 reinforcement chips, and returns the chip to the supply.
Player C now has the lowest offer marker ("3") and comes up next. They pay 1 reinforcement chip to take over the grey reinforcement die. They leave it lying with the blue symbol, and likewise leave the two black dice with the red and blue symbols lying. They may roll up to three times, but fulfil their contract with the remaining dice already after the second roll, and receive the contract card (the rulebook shows the dice result that fulfils the contract).
Players A and C return their offer markers to the middle.
The next round begins with Player A doing the target scan, because they sit to the left of Player C.
Spielende (End of Game)
As soon as the last card from the contract deck has been fulfilled, the game ends. The player who fulfilled the most contract cards wins.
In the event of a tie, the tied player who has the most symbols in total on their contract cards wins. If there is still a tie, the tied player who has the most reinforcement chips wins. If there is still a tie, there are several winners.
Spielvariante „Verräter" (Traitor Variant)
In this variant, directly after the target scan, the player whose turn it is may decide whether to roll for the top card of the contract deck or for the top contract card of another player. However, no reinforcement dice may be used against another player. If a player has only one contract card in front of them, it may not be stolen from them. If the target scan matches the top contract card in front of a player, that card may likewise not be stolen from them (but the target scan does not have to be repeated in that case).
