Star Realms
Do I get a card's scrap ability or its play effects when another card scraps it from my hand, discard or the Center Row?
The rulebook text settles this.

No. A trash-icon scrap ability only works for a card in play that scraps itself. A card scrapped by another effect is simply removed without its own scrap bonus or any play effects, so you cannot play it first.
